Also, if any Americans (preferably South/East/Midwest) want to play multiplayer, I am jyoung on STEAM.

I haven't been able to connect to anyone for a multiplayer game yet.

Got stuffed on the turn before at Si Racha, returned the favor next turn

I noticed a few things after 3 races.

The AI on realistic difficulty ride better during qualifying than the actual race. I've had no problem having +48 second leads on the AI at this point, bit concerning. Also, I have never lapped an AI despite running a really fast pace.

Berms are hard to ride, I dont know why. I've tried a few times and there is some sort of collision that occurs in the process, causing you to crash.

I love the tracks, they remind me of what I used to ride on a daily basis for practice. I do wish we could get a clutch and the ability to seat bounce but not a huge deal. I think some of the missing elements that we see in MX vs ATV is actually a positive in my book, the game is less of a gimmick or arcade game.

I haven't tried online so I'm really hoping there's a crowd for racing when I get to that point.

The tracks get a lot better the further you get into the career. I was bored by the first couple of courses. But once I hit the Netherlands and Brazil levels, things started to get more interesting. France and Italy are pretty wild with how narrow and hilly they are.

I've actually jumped off into the crowd by accident a few times and likely paralyzed/killed some spectators. I guess that's what I get for racing blind and skipping the qualifying practice runs.

Really enjoying this game. I guess I suck but I am having some fun battles with the AI on med/hard difficulty. Career mode is awesome btw.

Pros:

- accessible but realistic dirt bike game
- great modes (career, championship, etc)
- AI battles clean and rides pretty good
- tracks are awesome. Good variety too
- replay is fun to use with plenty of options

Cons:
- not seeing many spirited rides from AC or Herlings. ( Herlings is 8th in points right now). I don't want them to win all the time but their results haven't been very realistic
- crash reset time is way too fast. Barely any penalty for crashing
- ready set go at the start gate is not motocross...

IMO the best dirt bike game released. Hopefully this turns into a annual or bi annual release

Re: MXGP The Official Motocross Game Demo Available Now on Steam

I am noticing the same thing on Realistic AI. Qualifying I might turn a .4 or .8 second faster lap. Then in a 3 lap race I gain a lead of 10 seconds. That doesn't add up. I think the issue is that the AI is coded to be very cautious about taking rider out. In third person cam when you have it zoomed out, you can see them hit the brakes and screw up their line if you get near them like you might cut them off. I think they're just a bit too passive at the moment, but it's better than them wrecking you every corner. In a pack once you get out front, they're constantly braking and slowing for each other, so you continue to build bigger and bigger leads when you're on your own.

I've discovered the sweet spot for berm-riding. If you try to shift your weight with the R stick too early, that's where the bike low-sides out from under you. I've taken a tactic that has me set up for the berm, release the throttle, and as soon as my wheels hit the edge, lean over hard on the R stick. From that point, I can full-throttle all the way around and shoot out the backside like a rocket. But there's a weird rhythm to it. Set, position, R stick, THEN steer and throttle.
