I was in an nhl 13 league that went 6 82 game seasons plus playoffs and every game was pretty much played. You know how we got it to work? We only let people with similar schedules in the league, The rules were simple Be on between 6:30 and 8:30 pm to get games in. If you only have people with similar schedules, they can actually work quite well.

Get PS+ and download the free games! For both ps3 and ps4 (and vita). I don't spend a ton of time on all of them, but you can always go back and play them as long as you're still PS+
Like once summer hits I might start playin Borderlands 2... just because. (sorry for the mini rant)

Anyways, I will agree with you that it's a bummer that offline franchise won't have the same features as online. I recently started playing an offline franchise where I'm trying to play every game (until ps4 version is released) and I quite enjoy it. It helped me remember how much I love baseball and how much I love playing The Show. (now if I could just get my sliders right)

Will generated counts be available for online franchise? I don't recall.

So now that we know some things won't make it into offline franchise, what exactly can you NOT do online that you CAN do offline.

30 team control in the way you can offline? Editing players? Managing injuries? etc.

It'll be a big decision if I want to go online or offline. So far, unless the trade logic, offseason logic and stat tracking are mindblowing improvements I think I'll still stick with offline if it lets you control more.

I gues also if simming takes a lot longer in online franchise that would also affect my decision.

Lots to think about now since I have both options, but both have their advantages and disadvantages from a single player perspective.

I can't speak for Kevin but I think you guys are missing the larger point he was trying to make with online leagues so I only speak for myself but I understand what he's saying.

With online leagues, you have to schedule a time, be on time and hope the other person is on time. On top of that, if something comes up, you really can't pause the game and hope the other person doesn't do the same.


When playing offline, I can start a game at 6, play a couple innings, just pause it if something comes up for an hour or so and get back to it later.


I get both sides of it, but for my schedule it isn't fair to me, or more importantly to my opponent to be nailed down to it. Stuff happens.


Some just like the flexibility of playing offline against the CPU and it's just frustrating to see that we will have to pay extra if we want to see all the new features they added this year to just have a fully functional single player franchise.

More and more things being blocked/paywalled on top of the purchase of the game (online passes, microtransaction fremium modes, pay to win modes, online-only features that are pay-walled, etc. etc.) This nickeling and diming business model is becoming increasingly more frustrating with no evidence of it stopping or slowing down.

I'm sorry....I'm as disappointed as anyone about certain things not being in the offline franchise mode as the online......but it has zero to do with trying to nickel and dime you into it.
Every year.....something in the game gets the "special attention" and this year it was online.
Ramone has stated that the two(online/offline) are not a "copy and paste" and it's evident that they wrote it for one....tried to get it into both, but just couldn't do so.
There was PLENTY of things worked on for "offline only" modes(RTTS got some BIG dev time)....so your theory just doesn't hold water.

.....and comparing it to EA or 2K in those terms?...
That's ridiculous.
