The reason they can't confirm one way or the other...is that they are trying to write the same code into the offline franchise(from what it seems he was saying).....and until they know that they won't run out of time....they won't say.

Looks good for you online franchise players.

To those saying they don't get online franchise play.
Really?
Competing in a more completely fleshed out baseball universe vs. other human opponents and/or CPU opponents as well doesn't sound appealing?
If this mode had Manage only Mode....I doubt I'd ever play offline again.

Agreed. If you can find people to play the games in a timely manner, like I've been able to in NCAA football, there is nothing more fan than doing a franchise or dynasty with others.

I do wish this had MoM though.

I understand why some will use this feature but a lot of people like myself don't keep their playstation plugged into the internet. I have to unplug it from the usb port on my computer to get the ps4 online and then my wife can't use the computer - happy wife, happy life

Regarding manage mode, have you been able to confirm it will be available on the ps4? That would be seriously bad news if it isn't.

You cant understand why people would rather play with their friends instead of by themselves? Its really not that hard to figure out.

If it's against their friends, that's one thing, but against random people, that's where I think the online is a turn off.

I agree with all the downsides to online play mentioned in this thread, but, for me, until there is a major leap in the AI's capabilities, you just can't replicate back and forth strategy that goes on every pitch when playing another human. "Oh you're struggling with that high fastball? Well here are 5 more until you figure it out." With the CPU, I can just wait on certain patterns the CPU always follow to get my "pitch" or what have you.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Blog - Online Franchise

Has there been a list of what features the Offline Franchise has that Online won't have? (If anything). I don't mind playing a single-player online franchise vs all other CPU teams if it's not missing anything from offline.

The individual player training comes to mind.
