Right. The reason I dont play sports games online, is because in my personal experience, I either find my opponent exploiting the game, lag switching, or the connection sucked. Either way, I've never liked it.

It's a awesome addition for those that are into the franchise option of the Show, personally it seems alot of work managing all this stuff, so I will stick to the RTTS which is my option of choice.

This is seeming more and more like a online only game with major online support. It seems offline will be bare bone if that.

I'll admit though that being able to have the CPU control the other 29 teams if I wish will make me at least try it out and see.
Most leagues have guys that have been playing together for quite some time....and as the commish....you can kick a disruptive player and turn his team to CPU if necessary(I'm pretty sure you can change that mid season from what I remember)

For me...the BIGGEST draw to online franchise is the ability to set up the league structure as you like it.
If you wanted to recreate and play the 1951 season(since you can load custom rosters!) and take it from there...you can!....with the same league structure.(well....some may not be available ......but I think they covered all the historical setups in the options.)
Milwaukee in the A.L.? Yep....you can do it!
Atlanta in the West? Yep.....

If they only had manage only mode

This is great news. Was waiting to get the confirmation for full minors and it looks like we got it!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Blog - Online Franchise

I just want to add one more thing to this discussion. I think it is great that they are adding online franchise for those who have asked for it. Just another example of the developers listening and acting upon it.

This may me pointless because we don't know 100% if the new features will be or won't be in the offline mode, but in MY opinion the excuse of "well the codes are different and we just didn't have enough time" is not acceptable. To me that should be a top priority. Again this is just my opinion but to not have franchise mode be the same, if it indeed turns out that way, is just not right and I think the SCEA team is better than that. I'm sure a lot of you will disagree but that is my thoughts on it. Carry on.

great points as usual Knight. I think the key is and always will be OPTIONS. Give us options and we're happy. Make us play it one way and only one way then forget the whole mess.

Question: When it comes to being able to edit schedules are we able to edit when and where we play a team. For example if I wanted to open the season against the Red Sox every year would I be able to do that? Thanks

If the improvements haven't made it to offline franchise then I guess I will just have to start an online franchise with the other teams as CPU.
