One last problem/idea that I'd love to get solved is player progression and regression along with incoming prospects. God the prospects. SPORTS GAMES WILL NEVER GET THIS RIGHT!!!! The problem with the draft is that things like speed, arm power & accuracy, etc.. weigh too heavily on a player's overall rating. For example... How many times have you seen somebody who is a five tool player in your drafts in Franchise mode? Never. Even with the first pick in the draft, you'll get someone who is really good at hitting for power or average and that's just about it. The thing about baseball is that things like plate discipline and awareness factor into your "overall rating" way more than things like speed do. It's the reason why players like Dee Gordon are always overrated in the game. Somebody can be the fastest and strongest person in the world, but if they swing at everything, they will be a horrible baseball player. And the fact that speed is an attribute that can be developed is ridiculous. People don't get THAT much faster over time. People are either fast or they aren't.

I agree with some of this. Especially the speed thing, makes sense. As for All Star jerseys, I've brought this up too. It's confirmed OUT for 14, but possible for 15. And as for the progression stuff, I'd like to see that stuff re-worked as well.

Couldnt agree more with that paragraph about prospects and that. And theres that old adage that you cant teach speed for a reason haha.

The issues with prospects and regression/progression has been discussed a ton on here and the devs are surely aware of it.

Its been suggested that when scouting prospects you should see tools and not raw attributes, and have a cap on those tools. So if you scout a prospect and his run tool is a 70, then he is a 70 and can't get much faster than that.

But I think the one thing most people have agreed on regarding prospects, regression, progression is more randomness and variety in the system. A prospect should bust once in a while and sometimes a low level prospect should surprise you.

100% there needs to be a randomness factor for prospects, but that is something that I think should have more to do with plate discipline and awareness and whatnot... Maybe a thought would be that prospects could be ranked on tools instead of conventional attributes that established players have. Someone can have a great "raw power" rating and then once he has been in your farm system he can either develop the plate discipline and eye to utilize it or he doesn't. So many phenomenal athletes never have the intangibles necessary to put it all together, but those are normally the guys who are drafted in the first round. The great athletes with the plus arm or the starters who throw 97 mph and everything like that.

Has anyone heard if advanced single-A will be playable in this year's game for either platform? I haven't seen or heard anything about it.

What are the odds single-A becomes playable?

I feel like that would have been a big thing on the fact sheet. Still possible, but doesn't look that way.
