Yes broadcast mode has been added back to RTTS

I think this is likely for stats ....as storing on the4(saved data) or online servers is a big difference.

These ones seem like they would be part of any franchise mode as they are just behind the scenes logic improvements and maybe just a mistake that the (Online Franchise) was added. I just can't see them only implementing these improvements into the online franchise.

- Refined player generation, with more position-specific attribute ranges (Online Franchise)
- New contract decision logic, which factors in contract renewable and arbitration status more heavily (Online Franchise)
- New lineup logic that takes into account secondary positions (Online Franchise)
- Refined trade logic (Online Franchise)

These are obviously only for online franchise.

-New user management functionality at TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-Make, accept, and vote on trades through TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-Resolve and simulate games on TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)
-League members can now manage games on TheShowNation.com (Online Franchise)

But these two.

- Retired players stored for every season (Online Franchise)
- More player stats stored for every season (Online Franchise)

They seem like they could be an online only feature if the data is store online and only accessible through the online franchise menus. I hope not, but they could have gone this route technically.

I wonder what they mean by "Online Franchise"...

I've never played anything online. Just never appealed to me.

I wonder if one can play franchise games (a lot of simming) and then save online?

I've never done RTTS, does that take a lot longer to sim games? (maybe you play all of them)

Also, do you think this stats storing feature (if online) would probably be something we have to pay extra for?

What would be wonderful, if indeed, we have to do all the saves online and such - to be able to save them down to a USB drive and maybe something to load them to a PC for saving/analyzing.

The Show is a great game in many regards, but the stats interface (find players to awards to yearly stats to retired players stats) has been very lacking. Honestly, the only area that has probably been 'weak'..if you can say that about a sports game.

They wouldn't charge for stat storing, it would go against everything they've been saying about the universal currency.

From what I understand the online franchise is more of an extension to the online leagues already in the game. Its just that its more robust and offers what franchise mode offers, just with other people.

Maybe Knight knows more about how the online franchise functions and if its viable to play it alone (with simming, etc). But even then it still does nothing for those who play offline.

I'm sure they will flesh it out in a dev blog....but it's basically the offline franchise.....but you set it up and play it online(the servers).
You can play as just one team and set the others to CPU....or you can choose however many teams you like.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

I'm not sure if this question has been asked, but is there going to be a more immersive Franchise mode (as far as MLB records and milestones are concerned)?

I don't think I've ever played a franchise mode that was as accurate as MLB The Show is as far as the rules of being the GM - arbitration, player drafts, renewing contracts, etc are all very accurate - but the way that you can only see the last two seasons on a player card, and the stats that you see are only BA, hits, HR, RBI and other generic stats like that is really disappointing. You should be able to see every season that a player played in, there should be a Top 10 (or AT LEAST a Top 5) of career stats such as Hits, HR, Stolen Bases, etc... Just so you can feel as though all the games you play are leading to something.

Another thing that I'll never understand --- If they have the Hall of Fame, and they have retired jersey numbers, then why the hell can't you retire a player's jersey number? Everyone in the world knows Jeter will get his number retired this year or next, so why wouldn't it retire in the game? NBA Live had this feature back in the day on the old XBOX where after somebody retired, whether it was Shaq or Jason Collins, you could retire his jersey. I always thought this was a really cool idea and I'm surprised it never manifested itself in any other games.

Well it looks like somebody else a couple posts above me had a similar gripe about stats not being very immersive.. Cool

Is anything missing from what you can tell, like 30 team control, editing players, etc.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

Another problem I always had with this game is that the All-Star Game jerseys were just their warm-ups instead of everybody's team. Would love to get that aspect of the game finally ironed out, along with being able to move your franchise and edit your team name/colors, etc.

One last problem/idea that I'd love to get solved is player progression and regression along with incoming prospects. God the prospects. SPORTS GAMES WILL NEVER GET THIS RIGHT!!!! The problem with the draft is that things like speed, arm power & accuracy, etc.. weigh too heavily on a player's overall rating. For example... How many times have you seen somebody who is a five tool player in your drafts in Franchise mode? Never. Even with the first pick in the draft, you'll get someone who is really good at hitting for power or average and that's just about it. The thing about baseball is that things like plate discipline and awareness factor into your "overall rating" way more than things like speed do. It's the reason why players like Dee Gordon are always overrated in the game. Somebody can be the fastest and strongest person in the world, but if they swing at everything, they will be a horrible baseball player. And the fact that speed is an attribute that can be developed is ridiculous. People don't get THAT much faster over time. People are either fast or they aren't.
