It's not just the media though. As soon as he did the interview that's all anybody was talking about. People I was watching the game with, the OS thread, facebook, twitter, etc. all starting talking about Sherman vs. talking about the game. Don't think it's the media's fault for blowing it up.

Again, it's Shermans fault for the blow-up/criticism... it's NOT Sherman's fault as to WHY it's such a big deal. Read between the lines there if you like.

Or don't.

It's irrelevant and it's against the TOS. Please don't bring it up again.

Stay humble and let your actions speak. Michael Jordan doesn't have to tell you he's the greatest, you already know.
MJ was one of the biggest trash talkers around on the court. He just didn't say anything like that in post-game interviews.

I think talk like that is overblowing it, but if you can back it up with your play (and Sherman can) then it shouldn't be a problem.

lets be real, you know this is nothing out of the ordinary on the field every sunday in every game. if you mic'd up every player on every team for a whole game, for a quarter to half the players, every other word coming out of their mouths would be profanity, or at least violent and meant to intimidate.

being from seattle, sherman is actually my favorite player on the team. and my favorite player of all time is marvin harrison. some players need to be calm to get focused, perform their best and get in their zone. other players need to go super sayian and lose some humility to achieve the same thing. payton, bird, MJ, barkley talked trash all day on the court. im a type of player that doesnt show any emotion, but some of my favorite and most memorable teammates were the loud mouth types lol always made the game a bit more interesting and they always had my back

Re: Sound Off: Player Personalities and the Teams You Root For

My problem, or rather what irked me, was name dropping a guy on national TV knowing he can't really retort AFTER the game result. Then hes staring into the TV at America after every statement like hes cutting a promo or sermon on himself. It was ridiculous and he admitted as much afterwards. He says he didn't want to take away the shine from his team's accomplishment and apologized for it. Thats when I can leave it alone. His emotions took him over the edge and it happens. But the talk of him being a thug or an idiot or anything like that is completely uncalled for and based in NOTHING he said in his rant. Thats where the public reaction and some media outlets crossed the line and should be ashamed for doing so. Sherman is NOT a bad man for this little incident. Hes just a dick sometimes and thats ok. It gets him in the mindset to be the best player at his position. Good.
