The amount of interceptions is killing the game for me. I'm throwing 5-8 a game. Some of them are my fault, yes. But most are super DB and LB able to close at a massively fast rate on the ball. I appreciate them tightening up the defense, but they went overboard IMO.

I was afraid I was the only one with this problem. Lol. Good god, man. I can't stop throwing INTs!! I'm trying to slide some things out. Lowering their int and pass coverage because they are always all over my guys. And, not sure if it's the game or my oline. I play as the falcons and on top of their injuries in real life, their oline is trash, and I think it's showing in next gen. I can't run the ball. I've got 2-3 secs EVERY pass play before I've got a Dlineman in my face. All of this is coming together for me to throw INTs. The first game I played was 49-28, saints beat me. I'm 0-3 now in my CFM. Currently playing the patriots. It's 6-3 I'm up in the 4th!!! I love the d upgrades for next gen, but I'm with u. I feel they went overboard. I'm hoping to tweak sliders to my liking, though. With current gen, I tried my hardest to create sliders that would make the game more defensive and it never quite got there. Next gen is requiring me to squeeze some offense back into the game. Lol

So I've noticed a few players that had Face scans on CG do not have face scans on Next gen (Sam Bradford, ie).

Definitely a head-scratcher there. It's like they didn't even try to get his model face to look real, as if they just said "Eh, dark hair, light skin, good enough."

Other than that, I'm enjoying the game so far. (2 games in)

For me:


Pass Coverage - 62


interceptions - 7


Pass defense reaction time - 53


Also, fumbles - 9


There are some terrible OG/C line interactions with DT's. They get waaayyy to much penetration.


Remember to run majority of your Pass plays from Shotgun formation and use Line protection shifts.


Plus, have one or two RB's running eirher:


check and release route


Option route


Curl route


Swing R/L


or


Out R/L


Practice mode Bro. It will help a lot.


Also, quick routes like:


Drag


Hitch


and


Smoke Screen


Will lower Sacks/INT's.


You gotta be quick and chip away at the Opposing Defense.

Yeah, I do a lot of that. Especially, with the RBs out of the backfield with Jackson and quizz. But, man, they still get a ton of pressure. I've been sacked trying to throw a quick slant within 2 secs! And, outs, as well. I think I'm throwing a quick pass and right as I'm pressing the throw button, WHAM!! Sack. So, it feels like the timing is just different next gen, which is fine and challenging, but definitely takes some adjustment. I really felt I was setting the pocket perfectly in CG no matter whether they blitzed or not, I'd set my feet and fire the ball wherever I wanted. Not in NG. Dude, I've gone shotgun, 2 RBs, and had them BOTH blocking and I'm still only getting a 3-5 sec passing window! I'll take a look at those sliders u posted and ultimately believe I'll find a happy place. It's just so ridiculous as I said, CG took forever to find ANY defense, and NG is kicking my a--! It never feels like classic madden cheating, though, so I'm fine with it. This is definitely the best feeling game so far, so I'm happy with it, really, but the timing of everything is totally different. The graphics could use an upgrade, though, and Matt Ryan looks more like Matt Ryan in CG than NG IMO, and there's just something off with EVERYONE's skin color (black and white). I'm sure they'll get something done on that front. But, it's strange that ea has been touting the graphics of NG, while not saying much about the gameplay until it came out. And, personally, I have to say the graphics seem a little worse than CG but the gameplay is definitely better.

If you play online, you'll see that the drag routes are not safe, because the defender can be trailing and underneath but it is very difficult to lead the WR horizontally or vertically with any accuracy.

So a lot of undercut ints. Then you have big LBs which can cover the fastest TEs because they can be trailing 5 yard and still intercept or bat the ball.

Corner patterns are hard to lead unless you roll out and line up the launch point. Hard to loft the diagonal pass.

THen, you can also hit the QB late and make the pass fall short.

The oddest thing is that on a corner route to the left sideline, the pass is either way short or if you tap it to lead, then it leads out of bounds.

Passing control is poor.

Online in general became poor!

I dunno what was done behind the scenes but im getting too much cheese online from plays I normally would have shut down. Now everyone has 99blocking on these particular run plays.

People wanted custom playbooks for the longest and I said yrs ago that would not be a good idea as people would just fill it up with money plays or what not and ruin the fun of the game. I say take out custom playbooks for ranked games and let them have it in unranked games. Only way to try and purify the online community with online play. I have never been a believer of one play wonders.
