I'm all for large rewards if they're kept to cosmetic items, packages, badges/sig skills, or XP boosts so you at least have to play through your progress.

You're still messing the big picture. This is for the SCORING RECORD. Period. I don't think you could actually simulate and expect that.

Career records should give a good payoff since you obviously HAD to play for it. Let alone earn your way. even if you do get that VC and let's say, start a new career, a lot of that will drain really quickly.

There's no way you can simulate and actually get that record.

Again, you're dodging the fact where no one has ever done it and will most likely will not happen for a Long time.

What your idea of where that VC can be spent on is on you. I believe it's deserved to have a higher payoff for contracts the more you get better and you get higher VC when you break a Career record.

The prices on some things are just flat out ridiculous

Here's what I would be talking about. (Using Smoove's myCareer, note that he's already 81, but since you would've broken that scoring record, I highly doubt you kept yourself at a low level. So this is a reference to spending 38k VC on brand new myCareer, remember that these prices are SOO much higher when your lower.)

Spoiler

I would stop using the "sim" argument since myCareer is taking a bad direction for that aspect. There's no "sim" definition of earnings anyways since it's Mario coins we are earning. Heck, maybe someone can earn more Mario coins in a Mario game then you scoring 38,000 points in myCareer

If you want this sim, then you wouldn't even be doing this VC concept, you would just play the game and if you're hot, you get a small gain, cold, decrease, consistently good, large boosts, consistently bad, larger sores, etc.

But since VC is currently here, that's why I believe in what I am saying with increasing the earning system.

Re: NBA 2K14 VC Shows Its Ugly Side

I'm so friggin' done with this bull**** VC stuff in this game. Everything is insanely expensive, just ridiculous. Then you here about an app that you can download to get vc. Only the app constantly says my e-mail is not in the system, some old **** cause I did. Then I send e-mail to support team with this outlined, a week later you get a response that I need to sign up first. WTF!! Are you f****** kidding me! So no 1000 free vc a day (which is a lot, but aight, I soldier on).

Then you start working your *** of in this game in the limited time you have (i actually study, have to work 20 hours a week to pay my rent and stuff) and you buy levelup for 1000vc, but 2K server don't respond. Go to work, come back 5 hours later, STILL SAVING TO SERVER! So don't know what to do, close the game and what do you now, 1800vc has been stolen from my account without me getting the thing I bought. F*** this!

That was yesterday, now I bought something again and again the 2K server don't respond. Been waiting close to an hour now, but 2K probably stole form me again. I think it's absolutely ********

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just so pissed off right now and 2K just won't listen when you send them an e-mail.

I spent 160,000 VC to buy 12 gold packs in MyTeam and guess what I got for it? TEN repeat gold players and two new ones: Brook Lopez and Manu Ginobli...these are the kinds of things that make us go crazy.

Not everyone has to be the best at a game anyway...it is what it is. Since when is this 3rd grade where everyone needs to be #1? I'll go play Call of Duty right now and go like 30-10 then get my butt handed to me by a dude that's a lot better....only difference is he didn't pay extra to be better, he just is.

Tell me why it isn't cheesy I was playing against 99 overalls on Park day 1?
Tell me why it ain't cheesy that I want to legit get a 99 and not pay extra..
It's not cheesy some dude dumped out like 40 bucks for an all gold lineup while my best player is Rashard Lewis in MyTeam...? Just cuz I don't feel like paying extra?

I spent my $60 on this just like everyone else...the only thing that should effect whether or not I get beat is skill, not how much extra money some dude's willing to spend.

Like I said, with $50 people buy unstoppable players, fit em with the cheesiest sig skills, and dominate on park. But nah, it's totally fair that I earn 500 VC at most a game and would take me like 4 seasons to get to his skill level..

Get outta here bruh, sayin it aint cheesy..you're just justifying your purchase bruh.

Lol VC ain't going anywhere i don't need to justify anything if i want VC i'll buy it i don't care about the park online or blacktop whatever it's called i don't go online on 2k period because it's bad.

Try playing on HOF your 2nd game when your guy can't make a wide open layup or hit even a mid range shot and you're supposed to outscore Jackson Ellis with your 61 overall and you're coming off the bench for 5-10 mins only while hes playing 30+

Re: NBA 2K14 VC Shows Its Ugly Side

Don't kid yourself that 'this won't fly'. It will, and gamers will be to blame.

2K hasn't bent on VC since introducing it in 2K13, they have actually increased its reach and many of the complaints we hear aren't about the pricing structure, but about people who purchased VC and then lost it in a corrupt file. So gamers, maybe forced into a corner, ARE already buying into this system.

Two things can change it. Gamers can stand up, and not just scream about it, but boycott it. Don't subscribe to these sales tactics and force publisher to change the model.

The other, more likely out come, is that all publishers start to prescribe to these tactics. Soon, a $60 game, is only a $60 entry ticket into a buffet where you pay buy the ounce. This is effectively a price increase turning a $60 game into a $100 game.

Gamers will adapt to this by buying fewer games, which in turn will only drive publishers to raise the cost of each game. Gamers who once purchased Madden, FIFA and NHL at a straight $60 will cut back and buy only one, maybe two of those titles, knowing they will need to invest another $20-$40 to actually play those games.

Gamers wont stop spending the same amount but what they do spend will be spread across a much smaller spectrum of games. This will kill off all but the very large franchises and make publishers unwilling to gamble on anything new. Fewer options at the store will mean fewer and fewer people find a gaming niche they are willing to 'invest' in.

Console gaming will implode on itself and its own greed. It wont happen over night but it will happen. The 'next generation' may not be a 'game' console but instead you maybe buying a 'Madden Console' or a 'COD Console' that has a single purpose - to drip feed you a generation of Madden products.
