People in this thread are talking about how you make 500 VC for scoring 38,387 career points. That's less than you earn in one game.

Want to take a guess how much you earned in 2K11 before VC? 50,000 skill points. Sure you earned about 1000-3000 skill points a game if I remember correctly, but if they kept their conversion rate there, that should work out to about 20,000-30,000 VC if they were trying to keep things fair.
wow, thanks for putting numbers on this. I always knew the conversion ratio in the new games was a joke and completely unfair.

Being able to accrue large chunks of VC at once, by rewards or by purchase, and apply it directly to your player is unsim period. Which is why I prefer the whole mechanic go for XP boosts and things of that nature.

But remember. 38K points in ONE CAREER. This ain't 100pts in a game. This is a BIG deal and should be a BIG reward for one to do. Again, give me proof that there's ONE guy who BROKE that record.

If you think about it, the time to ACCOMPLISH that is justified for THAT record. You're not gonna get it in ONE season.

It's currently the impossible record NOBODY has broken.

38K isn't much if you look at that prices of boosts/myTeam.

Re: NBA 2K14 VC Shows Its Ugly Side

It's funny how people are starting to side on the (right) side now...

I remember a while ago people were arguing that it's fair to buy VC and jack up your my player's stats...it goes full circle.

I hate the whole idea of ANYTHING being purchasable that gives someone else an advantage against a non-paying opponent: in My Team I should be able to play through game modes and get enough VC in a few games to buy a gold pack. And that's another point..

MyTeam should be the only mode VC actually effects..the whole point of MyPlayer was to get your player as good as possible, and that it didn't just happen overnight. I remember being 30 games into the season in 2K10 and only being like a 65. Then 2K11 came out, and I got into crew. Actually playing through MyPlayer had rewards in the form of playing Crew (when it was working and their weren't hackers.)

Yea, if they want to make clothes, custom shoes, glasses, whatever purchasable with VC you can buy/earn..that's cool, it makes sense; but what doesn't make sense is how it's fair someone can buy their 99 overall, posterizer, dead eye, etc and be an unstoppable player DAY 1. You can't defend cheese like that...I don't care how good you are.

VC is a slap in the face of people that play fair, people that don't take the cheap way out (ironic), people that actually want to level their guy up the way it was intended.

But I doubt VC will ever be gone now, too many cheesy bums have to take the easy route...

Um is anybody forcing you to buy it? no you can go earn VC and take the long route.

There is nothing about it being cheesy or calling people bums that want to buy it especially considering the goals that your coach gives you and your rival already being 10+ overall higher then you

If you're not good enough to beat someone 10 overall higher than you than you probably suck at the game. Tough sh!t...

Not everyone has to be the best at a game anyway...it is what it is. Since when is this 3rd grade where everyone needs to be #1? I'll go play Call of Duty right now and go like 30-10 then get my butt handed to me by a dude that's a lot better....only difference is he didn't pay extra to be better, he just is.

Tell me why it isn't cheesy I was playing against 99 overalls on Park day 1?
Tell me why it ain't cheesy that I want to legit get a 99 and not pay extra..
It's not cheesy some dude dumped out like 40 bucks for an all gold lineup while my best player is Rashard Lewis in MyTeam...? Just cuz I don't feel like paying extra?

I spent my $60 on this just like everyone else...the only thing that should effect whether or not I get beat is skill, not how much extra money some dude's willing to spend.

Like I said, with $50 people buy unstoppable players, fit em with the cheesiest sig skills, and dominate on park. But nah, it's totally fair that I earn 500 VC at most a game and would take me like 4 seasons to get to his skill level..

Get outta here bruh, sayin it aint cheesy..you're just justifying your purchase bruh.

Still missing the point seemingly. It's simply unsim to get a huge chunk of VC/Skillpoints to jack up a character instantly. Just as it's unsim to be able to purchase a chunk of VC, period. I'm against that mechanic all together. This applies to both the achievement in question and all other more accessible achievements.

I'm all for large rewards if they're kept to cosmetic items, packages, badges/sig skills, or XP boosts so you at least have to play through your progress.
