A couple things that I don't like:

- Game speed is way too fast for my liking, I can't seem to find a game speed slider in the demo
- Ball feels weightless to me and not a separate entity than my player.
- Weight of players feels off as well, I don't like being able to turn so easily, don't get a great feel of planting going on

Trying Orion's sliders in demo but I can't find a difficulty level to change either and this default level on demo is a joke.
Trust me you will not have issues with either of these in the final version. Plug in Orion's sliders and the pace of the game will be nothing like the demo and there will be no turning without planting. Sliders is what makes FIFA good. Out of the box I really don't like the game at all because the pace of the sport is way off. With Orion's sliders this game is taken to a whole new level. Such a realistic feeling game.

PS4 league forming; a spin off of TFS (which is in its 11th season). Rules. Give a holler if interested.

Re: FIFA Soccer 14 Next-Gen (PS4) Impressions

I'm still seeing a lot of scuffed and rushed clearances by keepers.

I wonder if it's a ratings issue because keepers have really low long passing, shooting & crossing ratings. So in theory if the CPU keepers hit "shoot" (B on the XB1) they will scuff it due to a low shot rating (maybe poor technique?) or scuff it due to a low crossing/long passing rating (X on the XB1) due to low ratings in those categories.

You would think that the "GK kicking" would be the equivalent of one of those ratings for an outfield player.

BTW, the scenario that I see this happening is when the CPU passes back to their keeper. It's usually due to a defender being under pressure and having no immediate outlets but the keeper usually has more than enough time to at least hoof it down field.

Completely agree about the broadcast cam. I NEVER play on it (always Tele) but the default Tele Broadcast cam for online games is STUNNING.

Do you mean the weird 15-20 yard balloon clearances by CPU GKs and defenders? That's a game coding issue; I was able to fix it in the PC version by changing some gamefile codes. It doesn't have to do with player ratings, no.

Yup. Just noticed a balloon clearance by a RB who had decent stats so I agree, it's no ratings issue.

I don't mind it with a keeper who's under pressure from an attacker closing down.

The new animations make this game very enjoyable. Seeing the CPU midfielders use their body to shield a defender and turn them with a change in weight is a welcome surprise for this series.

Re: FIFA Soccer 14 Next-Gen (PS4) Impressions

Hey there, sorry to hijack this thread but I have pretty much no other way since I can't post new threads yet.

I've bought FIFA 14 on Amazon US with the B2G1 deal, but I'm European (so I'm still waiting for tomorrow) and specifically Italian. I'd like to be able to download the commentary in Italian.

Is it possible from the US version at all? I remember that in the old versions of the game there was something like this in the downloads section.

Thanks in advance

OK, I haven't played FIFA in awhile but they've really changed it up. X used to win the ball consistently but now it's a "contain" button and you have to use O to tackle or L2 to jockey?

Neither of these are particularly effective. Elite forwards are hard to stop now.

Or is there something else I'm missing?
