Also NBA 2K14 has been getting roughly the same scores, in the end the Graphics while being an amazing leap have been cancelled out by small changes to the game play (not bad ones, but also not positive changes).

Gameplay is what matters in sports games, and this is a sentiment held by a vast majority on the site (its why people still play NFL 2K5, and MVP Baseball 2005, and choose games like College Hoops 2K8 over the much better presentation-wise NCAA Basketball 2010). Presentation is important and graphics should improve as we venture further into this generation, the most important thing is gameplay.
I agree with your points

I think more research on your part would be beneficial... but as I mentioned I agreed with your gameplay points.

Your years are basically the same as mine. M12 was the only one I thought took steps in the right direction.

I need an in depth and realistic/smart offseason to keep my interest. Gameplay alone just isn't nearly enough for me. Maybe that's why others like M25 CG more than I do. Too much gamey/arcadey offsesaon.

I don't have NG, but I think I can grade it knowing what the offseason is like and I wouldn't give it an 8 just for the things I really don't like in the offseason. I can't grade gameplay, but I'm getting a sense that it's improved by all the impressions. But from the impressions from people I trust, it seems like the gameplay improvements still need a lot of work.

I am disappointed in not being eligible for the $10 upgrade. I would have done that in a heartbeat because I'm convinced that M25 NG is better than M25 CG. Just to me, not $60 worth better. To others yes, but me no.

I love the game as far as gameplay, it is a huge step up from the PS3 version. I just cannot enjoy CCM because of EA generated draft classes. The player's names are outrageous. If we could have imported draft classes from the PS3 version, I'd be in heaven right now.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Review (PS4)

Wow, a 8 score on OS puts this at a great game that really shouldn't be missed on their scale.

Curious now, anyone know how many times in the past 8 yrs OS has rated madden less then a 8?

How much lower have they reviewed it? I ask, because there has been some really bad releases over the last 8 years, and I can't remember many, if any, 7.5 and under scores.

EDIT:Found the reviews on this game from OS
Madden 25 PS5/XB1-8
Madden 25-7.5
Madden 13-8.5
Madden 12-7.5
Madden 11-9
Madden 10-9
Madden 09-8.5
Madden 08-7
Madden 06-5

I'm surprised Madden 25 on PS4/Xbox 1 did any better then current gen. That leads me to think it was judged off last gen madden, and not where it should be with other games this PS4 /XB1 generation. Madden 25 PS4 was really close the same thing as Madden 25 ps3 with some graphic upgrades. Take away the resolution boost, and the game was a small difference IMO. A few nice features like o-line and ball carrier running, but weren't game changing really, and graphics certainly aren't up to next gen level.

Anyway, I agree with Madden 06. Madden 12 was possibly the best Madden last gen and it got a 7.5. I'd give it a 8 at best too, but a little confused how other years could best it so much. Madden 10 was a decent year if you take all the other poor years before it into consideration, but not a 9. Probably a 7, and again it was judges off poor Maddens, not a standard of what the game should be. Madden 11 at a 9 is a head scratcher.

Some of the above scores are lower then I remembered, but still this game has gotten some pretty nice reviews over last gen considering how poor it was. I certainly don't see madden 25 PS4 only .5 or so less of a game then NBA 2k14, but that is just me.

For me, my review scores would have been

06-5.4
07-5.8
08-6
09-6.3
10-7
11-6
12-7.5 (Showed some gameplay promise, also upgrade with graphics, and camera work presentation)
13-6.5
25-6.8
25 ps4-7

Not sure I see where you are going here or your angle? Not even sure if there is a correlation between old scores with different reviews and different reviewing systems.

All reviewers scores are subjective, aren't they, including yours and mine?

His angle?

He says he's been seeing reviews here for 8 years yet he's been a registered member since this August.

I know a lot of people lurk for a year or two before joining but 8? Pretty unlikely lol.

Sounds like an ax to grind to me.
