Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions (PS4)

Thoughts after 1st game-

You can definitely feel a difference when running the ball which is nice, my only gripe is that it seems like the weight/momentum may have been over done for the smaller more agile RB's like Sproles.

Calling blitzes against the computer actually seem to be effective and actually result in sacks/pressure.

Graphically the game looks better with the "zoom" gameplay camera.

The faster receivers do seem to get better separation on the deep ball.

On all Madden I was able to force Turnovers by using the hitstick.

Pocket forms and the battles between the line's look pretty good. The linemen appear to try and double team players.

Con's:

I am not seeing the graphical detail of the players when zoomed in- in comparison to what was shown in the EA videos.

Players seem to change skin color randomly. Julio Jones was a straight up white guy on a couple plays.

This may have to do with the weight/momentum they have implemented, when I've thrown the deep ball and the WR has the CB beat outright over the top, the WR seems t unable to maintain that momentum after the catch and it results in a CB catching up to him and making a tackle.

CCM is untouched.

The crowd and sidelines are improved but not nearly enough to even get mentioned.

There was a cut scene where Brees and Graham walked off the field towards the crowd after a play for some unknown reason?

From the user side there is still not WR/CB interaction on 50/50 balls where bigger guys like Jimmy Graham would simply out leap the defender.

My god...you just convinced me to buy a PS Vita. For some reason i only thought that feature worked if you were in your home.

Nope, apparently it works wherever you have a good wi-fi connection! The controls are mapped a little differently for the vita, but once you get used to it, it works great. Also, if you lose your connection, the game just pauses like the controller was disconnected and then you log back in and can start from where you were. Main reason why I chose PS4 over XBONE and so far so good!

It will work from any wi-fi network, but Sony will not guarantee a good experience from any other network but the same one that the PS4 is on. In other words, your mileage may vary.

I don't think the game is with $60 bucks but definitely worth the $10 upgrade.

I am just glad they fixed the KR game! Nothing I hated more than scoring on a good drive and watching a guy take one back without showing any skill.

In game saves for play now and franchise

These are two things that I'm surprised ea didn't rep these additions, both are cool
In-game saves are in now? I had no idea. That's great news for when I make the jump to the PS4.
