I haven't tried it yet but doesn't the huge pad in the middle (okay what's the official name for this?) do it when you push it in?

re: NBA 2K14 Impressions (PS4/Xbox One)

After playing a bunch of head-to-head games with some buddies and several quick start games against the CPU, I finally played my first MyGM game today with the Bulls. I'm not sure that any other game has sucked me in more than this game has. It's not perfect, but it's pretty close - I am in love.

I ended up just edging the Heat in OT, 104-103 in a game that was just fun as hell. Some random thoughts from this game:

- I was able to get to the basket at will with Rose - not in a cheesy way, but in a "Derrick Rose is just quicker than everyone else on the court" way. I got to the line 18 times, which is awesome on so many levels.

- Deng got hurt in the 1st quarter after shooting a jumper. He fell to the ground and was holding his ankle in pain as the play kept going. He had to be helped off the floor and Doris Burke later reported that he had a broken ankle. Sucks for me, but pretty damn cool in general.

- The CPU threw 3 alley-oops, and each time they involved LBJ and Wade. Absolutely sick dunks too, and they weren't cheese alley-oops either.

- Mike Dunleavy blocked LeBron's shot at the end of regulation. Really?

- Miami really attacked the basket against me, especially with Wade and LBJ just constantly going to the hole.

- The Heat started Battier at PF, so I was really able to exploit that matchup with Boozer. I was able to back him down at will, and Boozer finished with 22 & 8 on 10-20 shooting. Mismatches such as this one or getting a C on a PG can definitely be exploited, which adds to the realism.

- That being said, it would be nice if the CPU made adjustments to those mismatches. I was hoping to see LBJ on Rose at some point in the game, or somebody like Haslem get a little more run to try and stop Boozer. I know that's a lot to ask, but maybe for next year.

- Noah does his "finger guns" which is a nice touch.

- I skipped out on last years game and this years CG version, but "And 1's" happen more frequently in a good way. I always felt like 3-point plays were impossible to get in previous versions.

Well, that's all I can think of off the top of my head right now. I can tell you guys one thing, and that is that this game is going to consume me. I can't believe how much negativity is in this thread, but to each his own. I am going to keep enjoying the hell out of this game and I look forward to getting deeper into MyGM today.

Thanks for your in depth impression. I don't have the game and I'm on the border of whether or not I should purchase because I've seen more disappointed posts than positives. These kinds of impressions makes it worth getting.

99% of game play posts are positive.

The only negativity is about the game modes and lack of customisation

Is it possible to use a legend team in MyGM?

Sounds nice! Can't wait for my Xbox. But Noah doesn't do the Figner Guns in real life anymore.

re: NBA 2K14 Impressions (PS4/Xbox One)

Can you play multiple seasons on season mode and where are the defensive settings? I kind of miss the ability to pressure shooters, lock the paint, double stars, use custom defense, or constant pressure in the middle of a game. I don't see this option anywhere?
