Re: Best Sports Launch Titles Of All-Time

As a poor college student with no understanding of finances, I opened up a Best Buy credit card specifically to buy a Dreamcast for NFL2K.

Ended up costing me almost $2000 in finance charges and late fees, but was damn hell worth it! I'd do it again in a heartbeat for that "OOooOOoohh MY GAAWWAAD" feeling of playing that game those first couple weeks.

Boy do I miss the Dreamcast, what a great system with so many great games. Never got the credit it deserved.

I'm sorry but Madden 2001 for the PS2 at launch was the reason to buy the console, I still think it's why Madden is so popular, that game was AMAZING for the time. The fact it is left off this list is really sad.

Madden 2001 is the best sports console launch game ever.

I still remember the day I fired up the Dreamcast and NFL 2K. It was the holiday season, off for break from college, and it blew my mind. It was such a fresh take on football from what Madden offered that I played it nonstop for the entire break.

Still got my Dreamcast with 2 controllers, rumble pacs, the memory thing in which you could cal your plays on it and a ton of games and it still works flawlessly. I hooked it up a few months ago. Don't have Soul Calibur no more which was da game to have on it. Just pulled the bag down this week as a matter of fact from the attic as I was looking for something. Bag still had my Dreamcast and my original NES in it.
