I could see some clipping when characters interact with each other, that is just something that is going to happen with video games, but clipping into their own legs? That is something that should not happen. How does a mo-capped animation get put into the game like that? And this dude highlights it on next gen!!! LMAO.

How does J.J. Watt's player model get into a game looking like this? He looks like Dave from your local Wal-Mart stocking department

I want to bring some special attention to this post right here ^^^. This post, in my opinion is THE BEST post in this entire thread. As someone who has been in software development for 17 years, this post is EXACTLY correct. Customers don't care about what goes on at your company, what kind of adversity you created for yourself, what kind of leadership and design changes you've had. They are paying for a product. As soon as you start providing excuses, they stop providing the money to you and they go elsewhere.

Once again, I wish everyone at EA Tiburon could read this post and understand it. I also wish they would understand that a big reason why they get sales is only because they are the ONLY game. It's the NFL people want, NOT MADDEN. This next gen game is looking really weak and sales will show it. There will be a boat load of excuses undoubtedly. Meanwhile, other games will be moving on and moving forward, and more and more people will begin to forget about madden. This was a HUGE screw up by EA sports, and the ramifications are only beginning.

Wrong on both accounts.

All-Pro Football 2K8 was made in 6 months.

Visual Concepts started working on it in full in January 2007, and the game went gold in early July 2007.

It was not a simple port of NFL 2K5, either. According to Greg Thomas, the president of Visual Concepts at the time:

"All Pro Football 2K8 was rebuilt for next generation. I think that our overall plan has been: we want to keep the spirit of NFL 2K5, but we want to really build from the ground up on a lot of different [areas]. If there's a number, say six different key basic foundations to this game, we're probably rebuilding four of them. So I think that from that standpoint we're really re-engineering most of everything, but we do want that ultimate feel to be what our fans have always liked."

Obviously, they kept some elements in tact, but much of the code base was re-engineered for All Pro Football 2K8.

Which is why it is so depressing to imagine what we would have on our hands if NFL2K 14 actually existed, I try not to.

You see what you choose to see dude. In this case, you're choosing to not see what you don't want to see.
