Believe me, when you see the gameplay videos that will be released, you will understand exactly why this title hasn't released actual footage yet.

Matter of fact, it would not surprise me for a complaint to come in to the BBB for knowingly falsely advertising a product in stating that the prior videos seen were gameplay, when in fact they were pre-rendered on PC workstations and have zero
to do with the new Gen4 platforms.

It would also not surprise me in the least if both Sony and MSFT have asked EA to not release any pending footage that might effect the initial PS4 and Xbox One sales. The industry tracks what they call a "Global Attach Rate" and also tracks the data on the ratio of initial consoles sold / number of games purchased at launch.

Now my recollection may be fuzzy, but If I remember right, the Xbox had a capture ratio of 7ish, and the PS3 had close to 4. That means for each console sold, that was the average number of titles owned by consumers for each system.

Launch is typically huge and I don't think that either MSFT nor Sony want to have people second guessing any purchase.

If a huge portion of the initial sports gaming population decides to not by a system at this point and time because of their disappointment, then both Sony and MSFT have a lot more to lose than the individual company.

Now that is just my opinion and supported with zero fact ( Sony or MSFT embargo ) or insider knowledge.
That seems about right. I thought there would be an off chance that we would see footage and the game would look better than my very, very low expectations -- but I'm not sure that has any shot of happening at this point.

This is a major failure for EA. They were given a clean slate to work with and with their customers back over, and they did nothing with it. There's a reason they are one of the most hated corporations in the entire world.

You don't implement new features at 100%, you implement them, then build off of them and perfect them until you get them working near 100% quality.
No no.. i understand how the process works, we just cant really pinpoint a "one" feature. In ealy videos, I specifically hear a dev saying no more static sidelines, but this is the case again. Bottom line is, you cant announce a feature that is not "fully functional" its called lying...

The thing about all this is that line play is such a key part of football; it all starts at the line. It's even more important today with so many mobile QBs.

As an outside lineman do I go all out and speed rush upfield, also leaving a gaping hole for a draw or QB scramble?

As an inside lineman do I bite on the play action and shift leverage to stop the run, or push forward towards the QB?

These are decisions you get to make as a lineman in real football, but not in Madden.

It's a shame and a disappointment, because I don't think it's unreasonable to expect these things to be in a football video game at this point in time.

A new console shouldn't be an excuse as to why these things are not in the game, they should be the reason they are in.

Outside of the fact that's it's nex-gen footage, I'm effin disgusted. Are these ppl serious. It's FRIGGIN 2013 and the COnan still focuses on the block instead of getting to the QB. Dude is pushing into the OLman instead of trying to get off the block and sack the QB. Yes it looks good, the footwork is nice. But if I can't dominate with GENO EFFIN ATKINS then what's the point. It's a game, if I create a guy and make him 99 everything, he should litterally have 10 or mote sacks a game. That's my point. That will never happen because the lineman Play kissy too much. And they still run to blocks instead of playing keep away.

Dud you see the DB run by amendola? This has been EA'S issue since the new gen. Effin juice mode. Errybody on skates. This is a year wasted mahn keep it real. I'd rather have backbreaker with new cams, and updated rosters. And a dynasty mode. This ish is killing me

Well yeah, I can agree with that; But at the same time, the physics were a bit overblown and "ragdoll" like a lot of the time.

There wasn't much "tightness" to their physics. But this isn't a backbreaker discussion, not trying to get too off topic.

Meh...The game looks good to me. Granted I do not have the current gen version so it will all be "new" to me when I pop it into my PS4 on the 15th. Don't have my "football fix" for the year yet so I am actually looking forward to this game.

That's because "Shoulder Pads" are not something backbreaker did very well so people are NOT going to use that part of Backbreaker for comparisons. But player motion and physics is something Backbreaker did much better. So that's what they are comparing.

It's simple. Praise Backbreaker for player movement and physics. Don't praise it for SHOULDER PADS. Don't praise Madden for player movement and don't praise Madden for shoulder pads. So people compare Backbreaker player movement with Madden player movement and don't make the same comparison between the two games over shoulder pads since both didn't do them very well. I guess you totally missed my point.
