Re: Gamespot Preview with video

Some things I noticed.

1. The screens were great. Especially that double screen for Chalmers.

2. The spacing seemed better. It did, dont claim it didnt.

3. Foot planting looks sorted.

4. The passing animations seemed great- none of those off-balance-baseball-pitch ones. The Bosh pass was entirely contextual.

Looks amazing so far.

To be honest, I was expecting to see some sort of obvious differences between current gen and next gen. Maybe in the way players move? The lighting? Better cloth physics? I don't know, I'm quite underwhelmed by that video. It seems that graphically, if you want to see the detail, you have to zoom in, which is something I won't be doing much of on 10 min qtrs lol...

I wish they had the atmospheric lighting EA has/had.

Sorry but the so called foot planting is barely any different. You guys are falling for their marketing again.

Don't get my wrong, I like 2K14 but playing the current gen version non stop for a couple weeks, I see only tiny improvements here. It's just not good enough.

And from the gameplay view, the graphics aren't that visibly better to be honest.

If anyone remember back to NBA 2K and the first few versions, you will (hopefully be smart enough to) remember their after basket cuts may have been real time graphics but (like, say Gran Turismo's replays) are touched up and not what you actually control.

Not that it matters, because as I said, on court while you play, it looks 95% the same as current gen.

Still a better game than NBA Live, but lazy. Since they've had no competition, they really have become what EA were known for in just adding tiny stuff each year.

You don't spend $500 on a new console just to look at nice faces in replays.

Not a huge deal, but hopefully they put in NBA socks considering every player wears them. I am very excited to see how POE works throughout a game. I am hoping down the line if not in this game we get better AI. I want to see Pop and the Spurs dare LeBron to shoot and pack the paint. I just want to see smarter plays, and smarter players. Overall gameplay looks solid, not the greatest and definitely not the worst.

Very excited about this gen of basketball for 2k.

Re: NBA 2K14 Video - Next-Gen Gameplay

Okay, the problems I will say with this video that stick out too me are crucial:

1. Player models are too big for the court. They need to be like CG size. Devs had this issue before on CG and fixed them throughout the versions, but they def need to be CG NBA 2K14 size. I know why theyre bigger, so you can see the detail etc, but fix the player/court size ratio.

2. Not sure how old the build is but, there is still warping sliding going on. Good case is look at Bogut at the 1:21 to 1:23 mark. He slides atleast a foot to guard his man.

I will post more things that needs fixing later.

NBA 2k also isn't the only game coming out for the consoles...

Considering you've been here since 2003 I'll either accept the fact your a blind old man or have grown cynical of video games. There's no other reason for your statement which is completely false. And based off such a short video I'm amazed how you could come to such a quick conclusion.

This is honestly how I picture you behind your computer.
