Wow, I totally agree with you! Exactly to the T.

Everyone is so caught up about how the players run, and the true step, but the fact of the matter remains that players in Madden don't walk like real people. They don't jog like real people. They don't sprint like real people. And they certainly don't run like real people. And all of that stuff goes into play when it comes to the immersion factor in the game.

One little thing I always like in 2k was how speed and weight always came into play for the gamer. So if you caught a long pass and no one is around you, your player would slowly ease up on his speed, almost to a jog, and then look around and slowly walk in for a touchdown with smug joy.

Is that something that's gonna make or break sales? No, but it looks and feels real. And as someone else aptly said here recently, realism = fun.

Another thing i absolutely HATE about madden are the animations of players on the field AFTER the whistle blows....when the whistle blows its like all animations cease to exist and suddenly these super generic robot pivot animations come in tow play...it sticks out like a SORE THUMB that it totally ruins the atmosphere of Madden. Why cannot these developers simply "get it"??

These small things make such a HUGE HUGE difference. I mean someone posted a clip of APF2k8 and you clearly see how in that game after the whistle blows if a player is running full speed and suddenly the play is over and the whistle blows..the player seamlessly goes from the in-game running animation into a nice smooth jogging or smooth walking animation in which the player jogs or walks back to the huddle for the next play (in a natural looking way)...it is EXACTLY THIS that totally hampers the visual fidelity of Madden and they have NO EXCUSE for not fixing this because of say...current gen console limitations because All Pro Football 2k8 did it so good...so if they could do it on xbox 360 hardware that is dated as heck.. obviously there is a "malfunction" going on with the aptitude of these Tiburon dev's if they cannot see this sticking out as a sore thumb...it truly is an eye sore!

Well, first look at the video, I see something that looks wonky. The KC game, 4th video down. #21 on the defense. He gets into his zone and is in the middle of an animation when the ball is thrown. The animation just gets cut off and he goes into another one.
These videos look better than current-gen, but SHOW us that defenders are smart. Prove to us that the sliders work better now and that penalties aren't screwed up.

Just leaving this slowed down version of the gameplay trailer here. In slow-mo you get a good look at the players feet, and how it appears to be zero weight on them, planting into the ground. Looks more like a hummingbird, but not too noticeable at full speed.

Who in the world called for Dark Vader on this video. LOL Bro everything looks different when a video is speed up or in slow mo. Looks better in normal speed. You can't really base anything on slow mo to be quite honest. That's just my opinion tho.

I could have sworn I muted that thing xD apologies. But what I see when I slow it down, just like the other gameplay footage, is weightless foot planting, much like current gen. They go through the motions, but it doesn't really look like they weigh anything at all when making these moves. That's just what I've been seeing, consistently.

Somewhere, George Lucas is shaking his head.

My only issue here is that not all offensive lines are created equally. Some are very cohesive. Some are full of people experienced in the system. Some aren't. Some can be exploited mentally. Some physically. I hope this variety is in there, but subtly so.

I just refuse to pay good money to play this garbage any longer EA is incapable of capturing the NFL experience like 2k did eight years ago.
Thank you.
