The game is being made by the same people. Why would everything be brand new? Why 86 useful and good looking animations? It increases their workload unnecessarily just so people can not worry about the game being a port.

It can't be a port. If the didn't create a newer, updated engine, you probably wouldn't have variable wingspans or the improved player to ball contact...what's the word for that anyway?
