It def plays a role. If 2k was still doing football and the quality was up to nba 2ks then madden would have to make huge improvements or their sales would go down. Its not rocket science....Competition brings out the best in companies...cellphones, cars, tvs, you name it. EA can say what they want but they basically ported the old engine over because its sells alot and thats all they care about.

And right on time the nitpicking commences lol. Also, why were a lot of you guys looking for 5v5 gameplay? It specifically said "Trailer" not "gameplay trailer" or "live gameplay." They aren't going to release it this early for obvious reasons, one being I say it's about a week or two too early to show it or reveal the meat and bones, think about it, what better way to market your upcoming next gen game and next gen systems than when the NBA season starts....Easy advertising to millions baby plus it'll be just a little over 2 weeks away from release then. Only makes sense.

For those worried about role players not getting same graphical treatment as the star players, Houston's Beverly and Asik look spot on judging from the short glimpse.

Only minor complaint: rockets still don't have their actual jersey template, the collar and shoulder area should be much wider. But that coming from a die hard hou fan.
