A lot of the true look of the game is how the players actually move in game. On the old systems the game looked even better because the guys ran and moved realistically. On the current gen it's the opposite, things look worse because the guys run and move unrealistically and it just looks ugly. If the movement is accurate, the game will look better than it really is.

This is so true, this is exactly how NBA 2K became king of basketball games. NBA Live always had better graphics, but NBA 2K looked more realistic because of the way the players moved. But I highly doubt Madden will ever get player movements right, especially this year.

Exactly. When you watch NBA2k footage you might think it's an actual real life game but when you watch Maddens player movement it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Am I the only person who cares for equipment look at the pic with the real Russell Wilson his facemask only has one bar at the top and ea wont try to fix for nothing. The way his jersey sits on his arms are horrible imo but regardless to say the lighting on the game does look good tho

But the 2k player models still have that blocky look to them that is not very good...Love the game but their player models aren't perfect either. I actually think the EA player models are spot on...They don't need to waste anymore time on facemasks etc...devote that time and resources to gameplay and presentation. Where 2k gets their pass is that they are almost flawless in gameplay and presentation so nobody can really fault them for the blocky player model

You're implying that doesn't make a world of difference. In my forays in art, accurately capturing lighting is the most important trick you can do that makes something look real. Getting shadows dark enough, getting contrasts right, etc. This is hugely important, and hard to notice for most people (the viewer might say, "something about this looks wrong," and not be able to pinpoint it, but it turns out to be emulating the lighting).

First of all, they were wrong. Can't you tell by looking at the current gen pic? That, my friend, isn't gold. It's tan.

But in the next gen pic, that is pretty darn outstanding. Assuming they didn't mess up the how pants look in shadow and night versus bright light (mustard-y in shadow/night, bright yellow-gold in light, like in the next gen pic below), they seem to have finally gotten it about as close to 100% right as I can imagine.

This is close to perfect in terms of color/tone/material reflection. The only possible improvement would be to dynamically show color reflection (red from jerseys, green from field, depending upon angle), which is beyond unreasonable to ask for. Simply having a metallic shine on the helmets is all I and many other 49er fans ever wanted.

While I'm not going to say the graphics aren't a little underwhelming, this is a launch title for a new console. Show me one instance where a sports title has had awesome graphics as a launch title compared to how it looked two-three years later on the 360 or PS3 or Xbox/PS2 for that matter.
