This really sucks. I did go out and buy NCAA 14 though since this will be the last year.

NFL football needs to set up a minor league system. If you want to make $25K or $50K out of HS without going to 4 yrs of college, go to the minor leagues like baseball or the D-League like basketball.
Work for football or basketball cash? You mean like baseball, soccer, hockey, etc? Wha? They do that?

That sounds like a lot of work. What could possibly go wrong with handing out cold cash to folks?

Handing cash out?

I don't think you understand the concept of a minor or developmental league.

The vast majority of these kids aren't getting valuable college degrees. The vast majority of these kids are getting worthless degrees, like so many other non-athletes are doing these days. They're not getting degrees in engineering or the sciences, they're getting trash like communications degrees.

The scholarships are handed out because it's the only way the NCAA can get away with the exploitation. It's the only way the NCAA gets the shrinking few fans to actually believe the lie that the education means anything here.
I agree wholeheartedly. What a lot of people (mostly the kids) don't realize is that a college education means NOTHING without a job, and and job means nothing ($0,000) if you're not getting paid. And guess what - an education DOES NOT equal a job opportunity anymore. That time when a college education automatically equated to a good job, decent salary and economic opportunity dried up in the mid/late 90's.

People with Master's degrees are living with their parents nowdays by the droves...it's crazy man. People with Bachelors move back home "for the summer" and end up still at home 8 years later because the job their degree earned them pays peanuts. But once some of these kids finish high school and college they'll see for themselves. Then they'll understand the whole "smoke and mirrors" behind the "value of an education" argument. And don't forget that the cost of an education has been ridiculously over-inflated in the last 20 years.

LOL at some of these colleges claiming that their Tuition Fees alone are worth $15-25k a year. LOL. How much does it really cost the school to give a football player that a $100,000 scholarship when the player doesn't even go to class? What does it mean that you gave him a $100,000 education? Did his room, board and meals cost $100,000 over 4 years? Cause he's not burdening the teachers with all of his completed assignments and tests they have to grade. Show me all the labs he completed. Show me all the educational field trips you took him on. Show me the internship-to-job placement program you put him in. Show me how his critical thinking and comparative analysis skills have soared in your classrooms. Show me the bonds he has with his professors. Show me how he has learned to lead in the corporate work environment that you've been preparing him for. Show me how much he knows about his industry of intellectual profession. Show me how he can compete with the academic scholarship recipient for that spot on Wall Street. Show me how he left your school 4 years later smarter and intellectually superior than when he came in. Yeah right.

But hey, there is nothing new under the sun and I believe NCAA football will be back someday, even if not by EA.

I gotta get mine generation? And that only applies to the players right.

Why would 2k or anyone else jump into this mess and risk the probable litigation? NO ONE will make a college football game (or basketball game) unless the college athletes get paid and in exchange authorize the licensing of their likenesses, etc.
