They aren't saddled with student loans, ect. They can complain all they want they are getting a ton for these scholarships. It's they fault they don't take full advantage of their education.
If I make my company a couple more million a year, they aren't giving me any of it, they are paying me to do my job. Same goes with college athletes, they are getting paid in form of an education.
Not to mention that they ALL know what they are getting into by signing the dotted line to play at a school. They know that they are signing to be amateur athletes.

Who cares!! the game suck anyway. Just be thankful that someone is looking out for those of you who continue to waste your money on this crap! of a football game. Players flopping all over the place, crowd still shot in 16 bit, sideline players look like card board boxes, coaches move like zombies, players are stiff and slide all over the place, every player is the same, does the same, commentators suck!!. I can go on and on. This game should have been cancelled long time ago along with madden but because some continue to waste 60 bucks for crap, EA continue to get paid for doing absolutely nothing.

You should be thanking the NCAA.

O'Bannon and the other players have been getting screwed for years.

I still dont think this is the end of the series. They will just wait until the NCAA settles its end of the suit before proceeding. I cant see a publisher leaving a profitable series on the shelf if the suit gets settled.
There are only two ways the series can be revived:

1. The NCAA drops their asinine position that D1 college football/basketball are true amateur sports, and allows the players to make money of their likeness (in games, endorsements, whatever).

2. EA making a totally generic game with no official sponsors.

Neither is very likely to happen any time soon.

Finally, the settlement just screwed future players over if this is the end of the series. Instead of negotiating a royalty for future players to receive, Obannon and the former players took the money and ran.
Uh, what?

This settlement makes it basically impossible for there to be any future games WITHOUT negotiating royalties for future players.

yeah, because there is no other choice. what if there was a nfl development league where players got paid? even if it is just a fraction of an nfl salary. think the college game would be around for long? dont think so.

I don't know if this TRULY the end. I think this might be EA's way of saying "Ok...be careful what you wish for." Because now...they're gonna realize just how much revenue will be LOST from not having an NCAA game. The schools will realize it, the conferences, the bowls, everyone.

Servers for OD are expected to stay up through college football season, and will likely be coming down in January. After January, no more online dynasty.

Loved what the Big 10 commish said today.

NFL football needs to set up a minor league system. If you want to make $25K or $50K out of HS without going to 4 yrs of college, go to the minor leagues like baseball or the D-League like basketball.
