And since they are ONLY working on next-gen they are definitely getting more experience on that platform than 2K can.
2k has two teams, one of which is devoted to next gen.

They also have infinitely more experience working on basketball games.

It also looks like there's plenty of crossover for the guys on current gen whose work applies to both (such as gameplay and control), and there's almost no work being done on current gen in areas like graphics that would divert resources from next gen.

Working on a next gen platform doesn't magically make games better. And 2K having a good basketball game to build on moving to next gen is an infinitely greater advantage than whatever's gained from ignoring current gen while starting from scratch or from code of the failures that were Live/Elite 11-13.

It's good that Live has a basketball guy in charge, but the last time Live was any good, Mike Wang of 2K lead the project, so 2K has the advantage there too.

The biggest advantage over anything you said is money. Is it 2 teams splitted up of the team they all ready had? If so thats not a advantage. EA has a team working on the ignite engine alone and a whole team working only on nextgen. Only thing 2k has a advantage on is they had a better game period.

Yes live is next-gen and all but i still have a strong feeling its going to be robotic and janky stiff body box movements with the arcade feel and my advice just dont say live is back untill you played the demo
If we base anything off of the past then I guess its safe to say 2k nextgen will be a port.

Not sure I'm following you on that. EA's biggest advantage is money? How's that different from any other year?

I love this thread.

Everyone is so feisty.

I hope that EA will show something good this week. I am looking for a reason to switch.

I explained why splitting into two teams doesn't hurt 2K. Much of the current gen stuff can be folded into the other game or vice versa.

Money and tech by itself doesn't solve problems. Experience, vision, and talent do, and 2K has that in spades. 2K has the better game because it's developers have been the better developers with the better vision under the better leadership-- proven developers that have a great code base who can execute.

That is the biggest advantage of all.

From the latest screenshots and videos, it also looks like 2K has the better artists as far as player models go as well.

This might or might not all shift years down the line but thinking Live has any developmental advantage other than being able to leverage Ignite is wishful EA fanboy thinking or a misunderstanding of how game and software development works.

Re: NBA Live 14 Trailer - First Look (Screen Captures Included)

When I was younger, whenever I would talk to a female for the first time, one of my earliest questions was always "so what's wrong with you?", lol. Meaning, nobody is perfect, so let's start by putting our flaws out on the table and help set some realistic expectations about us dealing with each other.

Likewise for all these people that are so wide eyed optimistic about NBA Live 14, you might want to take a minute to consider the game will surely have flaws and growing pains. EA hasn't released a NBA basketball game since 2009 yet some people are acting like that's completely irrelevant and suggesting NBA Live 14 has a chance of being stellar. C'mon man, at best it should bring some things to the table that some gamers can appreciate AND understand the potential to be built on, not something on the level with other next gen sports games that have been releasing yearly while NBA Live has been in exile.
