Thank you, they're definitely a good jumping off point. I'll probably post something in the slider section soon.

For those of us who are still trying to come to grips with the changes in FIFA 14(me included) I've just found this blog by journalist Darren Cross with several helpful tips. Here it is:

Although I'm admittedly still making bad mistakes, and a lot of them I'm finally starting to get it together. The game forces you to build up from the back, using your whole team, slowly, pass after pass. You can almost feel the momentum starting to build as you move closer to goal. Once in the final third(where most of my mistakes are made) it's a whole new ballgame. Gone are the days of slashing past the fullback into the area then shooting. You have to be much more crafty, quick passes, crosses are huge, especially when you have a squad like PSG with Ibra and Cavani. Getting off a shot actually feels like an accomplishment, just as it should.
Gone also, thankfully is the CPU's tendency to get upfield as quickly as possible then fire. They finally realize the value of possession, and will attempt to force you into mistakes by frustrating you. Play in the middle third of the pitch is also better than it's ever been, mainly because it's finally dangerous to make a risky pass, getting caught flat footed on a counter will result in concession, and the same holds true the other way, a key intercept in midfield finally results in dangerous breaks your way as well. All in all I'm more and more impressed with each game, and I applaud EA for finally, finally making a more tactical game.
Slider wise if anyone is interested I've been slowly building a bit of a base to start with come release. Right now I have this:

Speed: Slow
Sprint: 49/49
Acc: 49/49
Pass speed: 51/51
Shot speed: 50/50
Pass error: 52/61
shot error: 50/50
injuries, keepers, run freq, all 50/50
Marking: 67/67
Height 51/51
Length: 44/44
Width 48/48
FB's 53/53
First touch: 52/55

I didn't much mess with the speed due to the short games, still though it feels pretty good there.
Orion, I get confused about which direction to dial in the sliders. For the Run Frequency slider, if you want more runs do you dial it in left or right (higher number or lower number)?

Same with First Touch Control Error. It seems the larger the number the more error, but when you read the discription, it has increase on the left and reduce on the right. Seems backassward but maybe I'm the nimrod, lol.

Thanks

The higher the number, the more runs made, same with first touch, the higher the value the more pronounced the effect of first touch.

Well, it's official. I like this demo so much that I don't want to play it anymore. So, with that said, I am going to wait for the full release.

that's how i feel after playing the demo for a good chunk of hours: i have to change my mentality to play this game. i really have to forget how i played untill today, having to ignore physics and momentum (obviously due to the games lacking these factors). now i can play with the mindset i played back in 2002 or so, but i got frustrated cause the game was not responding properly, it felt arcadey and robotic.

finally, EA heard us.
These words describe a lot that I wanted to in my review.

Additionally, I'm really hopeful that I can get a nice variety of play styles with a combination of tactics and formations for CPU teams to have a fun career run.

Online play will be improved against the manual people. Against assisted opponents, some things may get really frustrating and some things might work in favor of manual ability vs them not being able to send some precise balls to places that would cripple your defenders. I think Orion might understand what I'm talking about.

I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but I was also happy that my finger was off the sprint trigger soo so much, that's like a great improvement for the game. You don't sprint all game long in real life. You sprint more for the ball than with the ball, which I think sprint will be used more for in 14. You won't be sprinting towards defenders with the ball anymore (which you wouldn't in real), you will have less control over the ball and unless you picked a great direction that's off the defender's momentum, he will pick that ball away from you.

Can't wait for the release. It's hard to play 13 after the demo

In general nearly all the fouls have been penalised, even if there aren't loads of them. I can't stand games where the CPU commits a lot of fouls but the red doesn't blow for them.

I've seen a few yellow cards so far and a fair few free kicks in the right situations - I'm pretty happy with it so far.
I've seen more fouls in this demo than in one year playing fifa 13, and i'm not kidding. The CPU got red carded (Pedro) for a tackle from behind, before the 10 minute mark. You now can draw fouls against the cpu, it's just a matter of how you use momentum + protect the ball.

@hedache Man, with this new way to play, and strenght playing a major role in the game, i can see your Galatassaray being even more lethal than ever. Especially because of Drogba...

Re: FIFA 14 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)

I like the Demo a lot...I first try PS3 and then PC (I've a really nice new rig). I downloaded Moddingway patches 2.0 to unlock some more teams and play few games:

Pros:
Fifa is still the more complete football package on the market (kits, weather, teams, licenses)
The game speed is right on normal
I saw fouls been called
Different teams have different styles (I need to test it more in the final build...)
Great animations
Great commentary

Cons:
Shooting & Crossing is still something that doesn't impress me
Ball physics too and player collisions physics system is a mixed bag
Hate sound effects (ball touch, ball/goal post collision)

So i think it will be' day one buy for me on PC... wish that both basketball and american football has the same scenario: two great titles two play with like soccer gaming
