Can you please explain that? How can you say that?

I saw a lot of new anim like:
Bring up anim's
On paint contested shot
Layup anim's

They stated that game has around 3000 new anim's so I'm just curious how you can say 98% are the same...please light up us on that...
Well Idk because a few years ago 2k stated they had like 60,000 animation and I'm assuming he meant that they only have added to that number of animations.. meaning that 3000 number is very minimal compared to all the old quirky animations

Yeah I'd say that's true. 3000 animations isn't game changing at all.

There are a lot of animations that don't belong in the game and would need to be removed too.

To be fair, there are some areas where a lefty finish can just about be automatic for many (assuming they have a clean look). Open point blank layups from the left side of the basket would be an example.

That said, there's a big difference between a lefty finish over street folk with a limited contest versus a lefty attempt over Roy Hibbert (or even a DeJuan Blair type) providing a serious amount of pressure at the hoop. I believe the same can be said for lefty jump hooks. Many players have the lefty skill but the majority undoubtedly prefer firing those hooks with their right hand.

In terms of dunking, I would suggest watching any random assortment of highlights and mixtapes and notice how many times a player is able to jam with their off-hand in a game situation. Carlos Boozer is one of the few exceptions I've seen over the years. Elsewise, when players are able to put one down lefty, it's kind of a big deal because it's difficult to pull off (I recall Russell Westbrook being a little giddy about his first in-game lefty flush).

The players with the best chance of dunking with the off-hand are those who elevate off of two feet and even then, again, it's not common that a player can interchange freely. For one footed leapers, they typically have a strong launching leg (for right handers, it'd be the left leg) so if nothing else, a right handed launch can squash their typical exploding ability.

people draw alot of conclusions from three 1-minute videos! The graphics will look the same because its the best they can do on current hardware. The game mechanics, defense, animations, etc etc have have clearly been upgraded per the short videos we have seen.

if you dont like it , wait till November , no need to post " it looks like 2k13" when its obvious to the world the graphics will be the same.

I've been saying this forever the players that dunk or lay up with either hand like jrue holiday and LeBron it's ok, but when you have Lamar Odum making contact lay ups with his right hand that's no good

13 sec of 3rd video on-ball defender stays in stance and puts hand up to challege shot or passing lane... While moving man, I thought yall loved basketball ROTFLOL.

Natural fast breaks with passing to cutters not being bobbled. You can see the speed of the passes there also.
But the Euroleague crowds!! And the graphics that we expect to look like next gen! Come on Czar, I thought you knew better!

At the risk of repeating oneself, I really don't find it to be objectionable for folks to see the released footage so far and think to themselves, "Alright, this feels pretty much like 2K13 with a silver version of the same overlays as last year." I don't think it's just in reference to the way things are drawn, but virtually everything feels the same from the perspective of a non-player viewer catching only the briefest of glimpses. I appreciate reading other people's impressions though, because they tend to notice really small improvements I sometimes have difficulty picking up.

The graphics are the same, yes. But so are the overlays and wipes (except for the color and maybe less chains). The way the players all stand stagnantly in a circle during their pre-game huddle then walk in sync out to the court is still the same. The way they dap their opponents is identical, with the same camera work. If I had to guess, I'd suppose the time-out graphic will be very close to being a carbon copy. It goes on and on.

That's not to say I expect major upgrades in each and every one of these superficial matters. It's just that, typically, the small changes and additions (aka the little things, details, aesthetics animations, etc.) tend to provoke a feeling of newness, leading people to saying things like, "Holy cow, the coach actually walked away from the bench to talk with his assistants at the start of the time-outs! Awesome!" And as it appears thus far, the changes appear to be a little more subtle this year, and it's likely going to be tough for people to pick up on that via short, early gameplay.

We've seen such a small bit of a limited demo, with old build gameplay where time-outs likely aren't even possible to call. But I think the "sameness" people are speaking of is not just, "The drawing of the graphics has not improved!" Rather, I think it's more of virtually everything seeming very familiar. And again, it's a reality of end-of-current-generation sports games, but it can still be a bummer.

It's like this every damn year....early vids "it looks like and upgraded 2kxx" so let me post my displeasure over and over and over again....what's funny is its the same people that complain about the lack of info and footage.

Seems like the ones who play the most can actually see the changes. I love seeing more contact in the paint and shots being contested inside. That stupid animation where the defender like "jumping stumble animation" is gone from the looks of it.

sorry for crappy quality gifs
