I don't agree. Elite had shots tied to A DIRECTION. Straight up was shooting. That was it. This scheme sounds like any direction, but holding. Basically, it's the old shot stick, with taps for dribble moves.

I find it funny that the Elite scheme got no comparison to the 2K shot stick, but an expanded shot stick is being called Elite. Weird.

People complained last year and got used to it, im pretty sure this is going to feel natural after a few games as well if that.

..but the complaining without even playing first is what I dont understand. The apathy that basically comes out of nowhere is ridiculous.

..and I agree, comparing this to e LITE is way off base.

Hated 2K13's control scheme. I was hoping 2K made a change. Anxious to see if LD is on point about these controls being "silky smooth".

If you left the ability for all the controls to be intact from 2k13, then it should end up working for me, one way or another. Thank you.

Due to physical disability, I may not be able to control dual sticks in a very fine-motor control way. If I am unable to do so, and if I can not customize the basic controls to fit my needs then I won't be able to play the game.

It seems that you address my needs and as a result I will continue to support you year in and year out.

I've found that every year they make changes they end up feeling like the most comfortable to me. 2K12 was great, imo, and they 2K13 feels as natural to me as anything.

It's all about how you approach change, I think. If you feel it's gonna be a hassle then you won't learn it completely and feel it's bad.
If you just keep an open mind and believe 2K changed it for a reason, cause they felt it was better, then you won't have any problem learning the new controls and liking them.

Re: NBA 2K14 - Rob Jones Briefly Explains The Pro Stick: Dribbling and Shooting

The elite comparison is way off base imo especially considering THIS. It is not tied to a direction. In text that may not be that exciting but for ME, In action. It was very exciting.

What you will find is as you continue to play you can shoot in the best rhymic stick move and direction for THAT move. Off a double cross I might prefer to shoot going back to my right. Off a step back I can do that doing back with the same stick.

each user out of each move can find their own shooting comfort direction using the stick. So your combo's into shots will feel natural to YOU. At least it was for me.

Again you have journalists with limited time with the game leaving feeling it was natural. They are usually not even hardcore hoop gamers. If it feels natural to them it should feel pretty good for seasoned vets. YMMV but I think the right stick marriage of dribble moves and amount of shots you can select WITHOUT a modifier is Mikes best work to date. He better have a dam good reason to change from this in the future.

You mean like, with the stick in a neutral position, you move the stick to the right as you're moving and hold it there? And that will result in a crossover pull-up?

Does that mean that if we want to hold the stick to shoot, we have to do a dribble move first? I'm not understanding.

A hold in ANY direction will get you a shot. Hold left, hold right, hold at an angle, Hold in any direction = a shot Fitz.

So you do your move if you want to, then whatever direction it feels comfortable for you to shoot push the stick in that direction.
