No such luck, I would bet. College Football 15 is on a new console; with the news today it doesn't make sense to push any sort of serious development time or funding to a game that may or may not even launch next July (and if it does, who knows how many conferences/teams will pull out before then? It's gone for good. There's no telling when this O'Bannon stuff will be over, and the risk of withdrawals won't stop until that's clarified. EA (nor any other developer) isn't going to pour resources into a game they might be able to use authentic information for; generic stuff just doesn't sell.

The logos, championship game, and in-game conference patches are all things that bring authenticity to the NCAA football. Removing those items unquestionably downgrades this game.

It's probably doable, but it would be quite a bit of work. If teams themselves start dropping out then EA will quickly pull the plug It think.

Doable? Seriously?? This is EA SPORTS we're talking about right? You do realize that right?

You do realize this is the same "EA SPORTS" who cannot even release a football game where the kickoff is at least random? The CPU ALWAYS kicks if it wins the coin toss! The can't even get that right and expect them to change 120 teams etc etc.....lol.

I realize this post might get me banned and so be it. It's about time someone told the bold faced truth:

If EA SPORTS Football Dev team tried to piss on a brush fire....they'd miss. Collectively even. The amount of incompetence with that Dev team has proven, over the years, to be staggering.

For the schools to pull out would be stupid. This game is marketing gold for Schools. They know young people (including athletes) play this game. It's a recruiting tool. Or could be used as one anyway. It's absolutely stupid for schools to pull out.......however...... what runs those schools? $$$$

At the end of the day, it's all about the $$ and always is. The schools WILL pull out because of that, and only that, reason.

This game is dead. Period. RIP. It's over guys. Enjoy NCAA 14' football cause this is the end of the line. You still waiting for a patch to drop??? Keep holding your breath....

Create a bunch of fake schools w/ fake stadiums and fake mascots and I'd buy the game if it had the same (or better) core gameplay. Probably too much work for EA though.

I'd be fine w/ a $30 game next year that just improves the gameplay and lets me use teambuilder teams only. I would want a playoff system in place though instead of bowl games

I wonder if the can make NCAA 14 for next gen and build off of that add new features fcs teams etc.. While the license is still valid.

Even if the license is still valid I don't know if they want to risk potential problems down the road. Kind of like Johnny Manzeil.

Yeah, after getting home from work and reading through this thread I was thinking the exact same thing. I'll take a game with a levitating football in the end zone and various other bugs over a game without major conferences any day.

I'm trying to rationalize this and think that EA (or any other game producer) could somehow make this work but in the end it won't be the same. I couldn't care less about losing the 'NCAA' labeling......losing these conferences (with probably more to follow) is a major blow and I would imagine that EA will look to the future and start to question whether casual fans would give a moment's thought to buying a game that didn't have these conferences and whatever else will be withdrawing in the future.
