Funny. I'm actually average which is why All-Madden should be much more difficult. There was little resistance to passing. Every corner route the wr had a minimum of 5 yards of separation. Maybe I should have said the defensive AI is not very realistic. They lock on to blockers, don't break from their zone until it's too late, and get smoked in man-to-man.

Re: Madden NFL 25 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)

I got in 3 or 4 games last night. I've got to say, I'm impressed. It's similar to NCAA, but feels more polished; better. Then there's the visuals... that's where it blows NCAA away. Probably because there's only 32 teams as opposed to 130 or whatever, I don't know, but it's pretty amazing to see the difference, the field, the uniforms, the lighting, the players, the stadium, the crowd, it all looks better in this demo.

As for the gameplay, as I said it feels like NCAA does, and that's a good thing. Love the new running, even though I found it difficult to run using that far zoomed out camera, but passing sure was a breeze, especially because of the camera angle allowing you to see the entire defense. I just wish it was a bit more zoomed in. If it would cut off just outside the outside WR's, instead of way outside of them, it would be a little more zoomed in, and easier to work with.

I also found the commentary does flow alot better this year as opposed to last year with Nantz and Simms.

Looking forward to picking it up now.

I'm going to need M25 on the new consoles to really utilize the things touted for the Ignite Engine to enhance the experience found in M25 on current consoles. The player movement needs to be very fluid, the living worlds need to add immersion and the AI needs to differentiate players.
This is how I feel about it. I really feel like this game was just something to hold us over tell November.

This Demo does nothing for me a couple nice additions but lacking still. NCAA foot planting is way more better then this demo. There's a huge difference between All Pro and All Madden. All Pro feels like rookie which concerns me about online play. Read Option will be cheese this year. What really bothers me is that you can't control the read man. The game forces you to move. The Graphics look great only in Replays. The Pre Snap adjustments on D is better.

Overall this Demo didn't do anything but really want me to see Next Gen Version.

I wasn't able to download the demo to flash drive, only hard drive. Why?

Just for the demo. Retail will have four. Zoom, legacy (last years), broadcast, and the one from the demo

Oh good, seems like in many of the posts that pepole were really mad about that, I think many thought it wasn't in the final game...

I haven't bought an NCAA game in 15 years. That being said, i was encouraged at the slowed down gameplay, smooth player movement and most importantly, the line play, pocket and pass rush seemed balanced and realistic.

All that being said, I find everything that I liked in NCAA completely absent from Madden. It's hard to believe the same company made these games. I see a lot of herky jerky movements from the cpu QBs. For example, Aaron Rodgers dropped back to pass and my coverage was really good. I noticed he had not thrown the ball for a good 10 seconds, then I look and I see all of my pass rushers are laying on the ground. All of them. Cliff Avril gets up, gets close to Rodgers, and Rodgers runs to his right, then throws the ball across his body and the field to Jordy Nelson who came back 20 yards to catch the ball. This is the embarrassing crap that made me despise this game for so many years. This crap doesn't even happen in NCAA. On top of this, the play literally lasted 15 seconds. That's not an exaggeration. There is still absolutely zero pass rush in this game unless you user the DE. How could NCAA get this right and Madden not? WTF? Once again, we will have another year of QBs throwing for 500 yards. You can still manipulate routes too easily with the "throw your receiver open nonsense". I threw a pass to Zack Miller who was running a deep post. I waited too long but pressed up on the right stick. Miller instantly shot forward breaking off his post to catch the "streak" I threw. This is hot garbage. I thought this was tuned down.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am. I really enjoy NCAA and find the game to be the best EA football in 10 years. I've been around for a long, long time playing football games since the Atari 2600. Why is it so difficult to make a realistic NFL game? ugghhhh.

I REALLY hope that the retail version of the game is MUCH better than this. Not having a pass rush is a killer. It will once again be Madden-ball sending 6 or 7 on every play trying to get pressure instead of properly using your personnel. Any speedy 4-3 pass rushers will be completely useless. What's the sense of having bookend DEs if they don't ever get upfield. Once again, NCAA really got this down.

Player movement is not bad, but not great and the blocking and run game are nice improvements. I still see a lot more silly looking and twitchy movements in Madden than NCAA. My initial impressions were very positive after I played one game, but after 15 games, I'm now pretty down on it. The crazy thing is, I've logged about 100 NCAA games, and I am really enjoying that game. I'm not even a college guy at all.

I won't touch upon the presentation or other aspects yet because everyone else has. I just don't understand the issues with the pass rush and the silly "throw across your body while running backwards" nonsense.

sigh... It is what it is. I'd give the demo a 5.5/10.
The Madden demo is a lot better than ncaa. If you are a nfl fan then there is only one game to get Madden 25 and I like it. I hate the 2k arguement......if they are so good why havent they figured out how to be relevant even without nfl license. I just keep being reminded of 2K Don King's Prizefighter.......wow
