Take a look at where their stock is right now compared to where it was before the recession (heck, even a few years ago). There's a number of issues as to why EA is losing money: lack of disposable income, lack of actually having a job, people moving into other gaming areas, etc... So I see the question of the possibility of bringing back suspensions has been asked.

Does this mean they'd also be able to add various other things back as well? Like celebrations, showboating in open field, etc. I like to think this could really give them the opportunity to be creative and give the game more emotion.

Also, would this give them the ability to utilize ESPN as well as other networks for the game? Not sure they'd be ambitious enough to get CBS (say, for Notre Dame televised games) and other specific network stuff, but it still is interesting to me.

One more thing - would this mean we have freedom to add teams TO the college lineup, instead of having to remove teams or swap them out? OR the ability to actually license FCS teams?

Good Riddance NCAA, maybe now EA can institute an optional playoff for next years game...

I hope EA makes an open ended college football game. Drawing on historic features (ties, no national championship game) as well as including possible future features like a true playoff system.

I hope this opens the game up. I was happy to see the NCAA was no longer involved.

Don't blame EA. If I recall, back in the day, they didn't have the NCAA part of it and it was called "College Football." College Football '98, maybe?
