One thing to consider is that IF the game is to continue, EA will probably issue a statement ASAP. Their image is already hurting, and the last thing they would want is for something like this to happen. NCAA Football is one of their more popular games, and not returning it is just going to lead to more pissed off fans.

I think we'll be fine, after reading into it a little more.

The thing I am most scared about is if they aren't allowed to make players to the likeliness of their real-life players. Although I'm sure they would be editable, it would add days.. if not weeks to the roster naming and editing process.
Ratings can be instilled OK. Without problem. we will just have to change their looks. Which would be fine with me.

I'm guessing EA would have an exclusive license with them as well, no?

It's nothing more than an attempt by the NCAA to hold onto its power and mitigate its exposure. The agreement with EA has opened the door to athletes challenging the treatment of their likeness and revenue splits from marketing intercollegiate athletics. The NCAA is just trying to keep athletes away from the TV and marketing revenues.

The NCAA and EA operated in a grey area for years but it was the greed of EA in using historical players that started this mess. Not surprising to see the NCAA try to distance themselves from it, but the decision to do so is not going to make one bit of difference when the Judge decides guilt in the current case, only if the current case should be class action or not and what athletes have been impacted.

Not all 127 are with CLC. I'm not sure where Owen Good pulled that bit of fiction from. Many schools are with LRG, and they were nice enough to have a list on their website. lrgusa dot com slash clients

It doesn't change the contract situation, but it's far from two entities that EA is negotiating with.

edit: IMG has a few clients as well.

The license is VERY expensive. 2k's CF game didnt sell much and while people here loved its last CB game....it didnt sell much either. Thats why 2k hasnt even thought about making another CB game.
