The game was so, so, so, SO much better in 06 on the XBOX and PS2. And it was so much more fun. And it's not even close nowadays.

Can anybody confirm if body weight and height actually matter in terms of physics this year?

I hope we no longer see 200 pound CB bull rush an offensive tackle, or a 300 pound DT/NT unable to break a block from a HB/FB.

Rules (previous poster) is spot on in his comments. Given what we've now seen, a more honest assessment and article would have been "Madden NFL 25: Here We Go Again From The Looks Of It."

I don't think it has much to do with next Gen technology vs. current Gen.That's just an excuse. If it's better it's because the dev team feels compelled to work on things that have needed fixed. That very well may be the case here.I'm not sure it's going to be night and day right away unless you do Jedi mind tricks on yourself to make you believe that.

C'Mon the other game had current gen double team blocking,Sig animation for every player, and lets not forget the gen before that had a espn half time show etc.. this is on the developer talent or work ethics. The proof is in the pudding they didn't need nex gen hardware to accomplish those things the other game did but I wil give this team one year with next gen if they don't blowout the other game I'm thru with this company and see why they was voted worst for 2 years smh

Re: Madden NFL 25 vs. Madden NFL 06: It is Different This Time

I guess it will be different in some ways, but I am worried it will be similar in many ways. Playing the NCAA early release just highlights how many issues EA football games have. They are just such poorly developed sports games, that they cannot be taken seriously as simulations of the sport.

Is a new system with more power really going to change anything. Is it really, as an example, going to make the so called "physics" better and be used throughout all player interactions. Currently, the player interaction is so poor. Tackling is the same one on one, everyone else tumbleweeds over when trying to interact with the ball carrier on almost all occasions.

That's just the tip of the iceberg, with so many other issues also needing addressing. Once the videos start to come out, we'll be able to see if it is the same or not. They are surely better prepared, but their game code and development has proven they are not ready.

If they truly have re-written things and the game behaves in a totally different manner, then perhaps I will happily and excitedly sing a different tune. I just don't trust them at all. It's taken time with me to get to this point, but I am here.

Kolbe is my only hope, but I am worried that he has been EA'd as well. Hopefully he was able to convince them of the massive changes needed to get the game to replicate the sport, much like the baseball game he helped to make great.

It isn't different this time, they're still the only company making Football games, the lack of competition is keeping them from actually doing anything to improve the game.

I have some fear in the back of my mind that when they say the Next Gen version will have all of the same features as the current gen, that they are tricking us into thinking they would not remove some features from current gen to make this statement accurate if push comes to shove.
