I think the difference now is there is actually a stamina bar. I think you could hold the button down and the player would never slow down. Now once the bar is empty you return to normal speed. Jukes and spins also effect the stamina as well. I could be wrong though.

Hate to harp on the negative but the legacy control issues still exist. The "ball hawk" feature is a nice idea if it worked. The man you're controlling still doesn't perform the act of attempting to pick or swat a ball when you push the button. Yes occasionally you see a "user pick" but that ball would be picked if you're manually controlling him or not. The men you're controlling on defense are still too "floaty" and sticky blocks reign. To stop the run on defense you have to 100% sell out (run blitz + pre snap run commit) against the run or you have no chance. And when you do that it leaves everyone wide open regardless of the passing play that is called. It boils back down to the wonky floaty controls on defense, you still cannot make up for bad AI or a bad play by making a great effort on the sticks...not frequently enough to make a difference anyway. So you better guess right. It reminds me a lot of Tecmo Bowl in the sense that if you guess the right play the offense has no chance, and if you guess wrong the defense has no chance giving he sense that what you do on the sticks really doesn't matter all that much. It reality, it doesn't.

I will admit, when I first fired the demo up I was pretty stoked. New Cam, New animations, ect. But after about ten games the same patterns are evolving, the same legacy issue and complaints are cropping up, and it's leaving me with the same level of dissatisfaction.

Also, the pause when you switch to hurry up and continue it isn't THAT BAD. I mean look at Oregon normally they pick the same play they just ran or variation of it with a pass wrinkle. You can't scroll for a hour looking for a play if you run the hurry up. Just switch from Inside Zone Reads to Outside Zone Reads and throw in some PA Screens.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

After sitting out for the NCAA '13 iteration of the game I expected to download this demo and be sucked right back in to where I was years ago when I couldn't wait for release. Instead, I found it to look worse than 12's version. I am not sure if this is due to the early build of a demo or what, but on my screen the players were rough around the edges and that took a lot away from the game for me.

I enjoyed the gameplay for the most part, although I still feel that players are too fast and still too able to cut on a dime. Overall for gameplay it felt too similar to the previous years.

The atmosphere was great, although along with the look of the players the stadium itself looked blurry and poorly rendered. Still something that takes away from these games is sidelines though. With it being so empty on sidelines/endzones, it feels like the crowd itself is way too far away from the field and there is a disconnection, with that said though, I thought the crowd noise was great, and with custom tracks would be a great gaming experience.

All in all, not enough has changed in game to sway my decision to pass on this game this year. The stat overlays and commentary have improved, but not drastically enough from even NCAA 11. I will keep my money and wait for hopefully an amazing experience on the PS4 next summer.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I played TAM vs Oregon last night on AA difficulty on the 360. Game feels more difficult, but maybe that's just me needing to get used to the AI not being complete idiots. I love the new Coordinator Cam out of all the new ones as I tested them all out. Hated the zoom camera. Just absolutely hated it. Anyway, late in the 2nd Q, I needed to drive down the field to get into FG position with Oregon, so I threw a couple of deep bombs with 4 verts, testing it out. Completed two of them and I thought to myself 'here we go again', but that wasn't the case. After those two bombs, I did nothing but throw 4 verts with both teams for the entire 3rd Q. Completed zero to the guy streaking down the middle, which is where the issue was last year. He was usually blanketed by the slot WR and covered over the top by a safety. Even threw an INT on one ball. Overall, the game plays better than last year but I doubt I play more than 1 or 2 more games. I'm just not a demo guy, no matter how great it is. In fact, I don't even like playing exhibition games in full NCAA releases.

If you're not going to tell us what it is then stop mentioning it or post a video. Until you do either one of those, stop trolling everyone.
He did, on the last page. It is just in spoiler tags so you may not have seen it...

solid.
animations for the most part are smooth. I really like the coordinator cam. Hopefully this camera angle is in Maddenn.
passing game seems a bit too easy on the Varsity setting.
I like the ability to mix the level settings for Offense and Defense.
where are the penalties?
commentary and atmosphere is boring.

Im on the fence about getting this. have to paly a few more games to get a better feel
