Re: Madden 25 Playbooks - Run Free and Infinite Engine 2

I stated in another thread, I enjoyed the write-ups of Under the Code vs what EA put together.

The write-ups were honest and sincere.

Re: Madden 25 Playbooks - Run Free and Infinite Engine 2

(didn't see this thread at first so apologies for the double post)

"The defense also had more big hit moments (not sure if its because my thumbs are weapons) or because of the new heat-seeker control. I felt like when I had to go for risky tackles or take on blockers, I still had a chance to lunge and make a play. Lastly, don’t hurdle towards my player in Madden 25, I never go low…Or do I? #Lockup"

Anyone else find the need for EA to equalise their overpowering of offense with CPU assistance reeks of laziness and uninspired/fundamentally flawed game design?

Defense is basically being relegated to CPU determining the outcome with hardly any skill required.

Timing a tackle will disappear, as will timing an interception... Yet the fundamentals (coverage/pursuit) that really effect these things will be ignored and glossed over... Typical.

Can't be any less excited for Madden after reading that article.

I have a feeling that this heat seeker tackling is just the defensive assist button now being used for tackling. Hold down a or x and your guy automatically runs to the ball similar to the ball hawk mechanic they added last year for automatically getting your defender in position make a play on a pass. Just more things to cater to the casuals who emailed EA telling them it was too hard to tackle lol.

The infinite engine sounds good imo. Dotn like the combo moves. But from what i read some things can make the game more fun. Its all about how ea executes them

Both of these aren't sexy in writing or video. I'm intrigued to see how it feels when you're playing though and also how the CPU executes the moves. They mention how worse backs won't be able to execute the moves as well, the only thing that worries me is that playing on All-Madden will still just turn every back into a Earl Campbell-Barry Sanders hybrid.
