I can't reiterate this enough, but this has been a huge focus going forward. I am here, reading the feedback. We've had some great discussions with the NBA 2K Insider about streamlining this entire process.

We have one guy that can't knock out 15 players let alone get the rating and attributes right.

2k insider is a soft topic to discuss about.
That's exactly the point. The main problems aren't inaccurate wristband colors or wrong shoes and all the other stuff 2k could "streamline" by allowing gamers to complain about them via twitter/facebook/whatever...but the fact that 2k is apparently unable to recognize how the real NBA looks like.

If a player can't shoot in real life, why should he in 2k? But tell that to the insider...imagine a soccer game where, I don't know, Daniel Van Buyten can dribble as well as Arjen Robben. Or what about a football simulation where Randy Moss is a better passer than Joe Flacco? That's exactly what the "insider" is providing right now. So "talking to him" seems pointless to me, what does he even know about basketball?

Are you sure he speaks English because apparently... he isn't getting the message?

From everything I hear and read the 2k insider is the problem. The guy is just not good at his job. His work is lazy and sloppy.

Rosters are just as important as game play. You say you guys get it but you don't. 1 guy working on rosters is laughable.

A.) You hired the laziest man in the world to do rosters for the only NBA game in the world.

B.) You hired someone who already has a crazy busy job that take up 99% of his time and you expect him to handle your rosters as well and he should of never took the job as he didn't know what he was getting into and someone with common sense should of never hired him.

its time to step up and bring in some people with a passion for the game. Innovative people that will take the rosters to a new level and put in the work.

I don't really see many complaints about game play. Game play can always get better but most of the complaints are directly with the rosters.

If NBA 2k14 had no new game play changes and just knocked the rosters out of the park with more sig skills and creative things and lots of time spent into every roster update. I doubt anyone would complain and I bet it would shatter NBA 2k sales records.

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-16-13)

If I was in charge of rosters I would want a real time chat. To get into this chat you would have to register the roster code that came with the game and create a roster account. You would only get 1 user name account per game purchase. Would make people be a little more careful how they act and post.

It would kinda be like Facebook's chat.

As the roster guy it would be the greatest thing a roster editor could have. I would read through every comment and spend at least a hr everyday talking to the community about players and suggestions and what needs to be changed for the next roster update. i would probably pop in and out through the day.

It would make the community feel and be a big part of the roster updates. I would let them know ahead of time what im looking to change and ask for impute. I would even pop in at night when im watching as many basketball games as I can.

Thats how rosters should be done. This is 2013. As a social media guy I think you understand how important it has become now days.

I would spend the same amount of time on every player and every team. There would not be a player missed or left out and not a jersey number wrong that wouldn't get correct the next week. If someone said hey this guys jersey number was wrong in the roster update I would make sure its changed in the next.

While I like the idea of some kind of social media feedback, these things have the potential to backfire quickly, if every fanboy could simply start spamming about their hero "getting ignored", "deserving more sig skills" and other stuff...you'd lose your mind.
That does not mean I don't like your idea at all, it's definitely a step in the right direction.
But social media should mainly be used for art updates (acessories, shoes, numbers), and not for the kind of rating overreactions you'll often find in roster threads. So for the visual aspect, it would be nice to maybe have fans of certain teams point out recent gear changes, so the roster devs can focus on more important issues.

To me, the main focus should be to at least get the fundamentals right. If a player is a good rebounder in real life, he should be in 2k14, too. If he's a great mid range spot up shooter, the game should reflect that. But even this simple stuff requires a level of basketball knowledge the "insider" either doesn't possess or can't/isn't allowed to use for editing rosters right now.

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-16-13)

How about 2k hire somestatistics experts. Let them n on the ratings formulas and let them translate all of the advanced stats into the ratings. And have some former nba scouts give some of their knowledge since everything ain't about the stats.

Might cost some $ but you will get some realistic ratings.

This won't happen tho

Insider sucks balls tho
I thank him for takin care of my knicks
