Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 Developers Provide Some Details on Upcoming Patch

Has anyone else noticed certain clothing having graphical distortions (I believe it's Adidas outerwear)? I've only recently noticed it because I usually just wear polos, but when I preview or equip them, it looks like there is a giant spike that is coming from the left shoulder. I tried resetting the game to see if something wasn't loading properly, but it was still there.

One niggling issue that I hope is or will be fixed is that the stat overlays can sometimes 'stick' and when you are trying to putt it can be pain to have to pause and then 'B' button back to resume to make the overlay go away.

A couple of new updates from EA about the patch and last Saturday's Server side "deployment" (it's geek speak, don't ask me to explain it ).

Both of these come from HANDSWARD (Justin Patel), who is one of the game's developers:

Patch:

"Sorry, but I have been out of town since Saturday. Just got back in last night. I will be giving an update on the patch list later today. There are more fixes to add to the list. The patch is on its way out to first party. Hopefully it can get through there as fast as possible so that you all can have it soon enough."

Server side update:

"We deployed a fix on Saturday that isn't working 100%. It seems that a few users are not being sorted into the leaderboard correctly. It is a server side issue. We hope to have it figured soon and get a fix deployed before the weekend."

The latest official update from Sean Wilson concerning the patch:

Hello everyone. Sorry, for the slow response time for the past week or so. Justin and I were both out of the office, but we're back now. Here's the latest update on the patch.

Our plan right now is to submit our current patch candidate tomorrow for approvals. There has been a slight delay of a few days as we encountered a new crash caused by a patch fix and an issue where clubs would sometimes disappear due to another patch fix. Both of those have been addressed and our own team is continuing to test the latest build thoroughly. We also wanted to add a fix for that issue with pins not working correctly in head 2 head matches that was called out this week on these forums.

We completely understand the frustration around the issues you've been seeing. Please believe me when I say we are trying to get this patch out as quickly as possible, however we also do not want to create new issues so we're proceeding very carefully.

FAQ:

1. When will the patch arrive?
Once in submission it's a bit out of our hands. It depends on how busy Microsoft and Sony are and whether or not they find any 'show-stopper' issues. If they find an issue that they won't allow, we obviously will have to fix it and start the process over. I'm hopeful it will be no later than 2 weeks if all goes well. Though it may go longer, or it may be quicker. I will update these boards throughout the process.

2. How will you know when the patch has been approved?
We will update you on these forums. Also, when the patch is live, you should be automatically prompted that an update to the game is available when you attempt to boot up the game, assuming you are online.

3. What has been fixed?
The fix list can be found here:

http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9396331.page

Hands just cleaned this thread up and added all the latest fixes, including a few fixes around pins.

4. Will we wipe the H2H game stats when the patch is released?
Yes

5. Will this patch fix the crashes I've been seeing?
Though we have fixed a couple of crashes we were seeing, and other fixes may have inadvertently cleaned up other crash issues, it's tough for us to say with absolute certainty that any specific crash you are seeing has been fixed as we just aren't seeing all the crashes reported on these boards. We have made a fix to how online games were being reported that could possibly improve freezing in online matches. The patch build has also been through test internally again and I know of no crash issues beyond the one I've already stated we've fixed. Also, Sony and Microsoft would make us fix any crashes they see during their review.

This is fast. We would never see a patch this comprehensive, this big, this soon after release.

Re: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 Developers Provide Some Details on Upcoming Patch

Latest official information concerning the patch, courtesy of Sean Wilson, EA Sports:

"We kept the latest patch build for further testing and some additional dev work over the weekend to iron out a couple other issues that crept up on Friday. The issues seem to be resolved, however, we're spending today taking one final pass to try and ensure that this build is clean.

I understand the frustration, but these issues would in all likelihood caused us to fail out of Sony/Microsoft, and if that happened the delay could have been worse. We're working as hard as we can to get this build out. All I can do is to continue to be as honest and forthright as possible on our progress."

This is completely off subject and I apologize, but this seems to be the only forum right now getting any active comments. So here's my question:

What clothes are actually allowed at Augusta or the masters? I have my player dressed in all Nike clothes (dress slacks and polo shirt) with a mizuno hat because no Nike hats are available yet, but when I played a couple quick tournaments at the masters it defaulted my clothes to ea outfits. So what clothes can I wear? Any insight would be very helpful, thanks in advance.
