In some cases, I fully concur. And let me not get carried away -- I don't at all know what the blocking looks in these next slate of football games. Just pure speculation here.

In this case, I think the visual and functionality go hand & hand. Sure, DE/OLBs aren't rushing the passer w/ their ears pinned back on every pass play. But for the times that they should, that can't be replicated in Madden b/c the animation support isn't there. Although that may seem like a visual thing, that impacts the necessity (or lack thereof) to step up in the pocket to find room to make a throw. What you then have [again] is users scrambling from side to side of the field to find space to make a throw rather than working within the confines of the pocket.

It's all a moot point though til we see blocking footage though.

That's what I want Clint to bring to the team -- not just direction on who should block who.

And again, I'm not saying tackle/DE interaction has been ignored. But if it were addressed and overhauled, I think it would've been a point of emphasis in the coverage we've seen today. And I haven't seen that.
Agreed, seems like they did more tweaking, maybe a little more than in the past, but still just tweaking.

In fairness though, there supposed to be more we haven't seen today. Even though I am not sure how well it will be done it seems likely the other things touted will improve edge rushing by default. They have already touted hand fighting or conceptual awareness, where players, including defenders use their hands to fight through traffic. So like Road alluded to, if the patty cake is addressed and pass rushers are now looking to avoid waltzing with the Tackles, that seems like a core improvement to edge rushing.

We will see though.

To be honest, I doubt they will change much gameplay wise, they will say they will and make it look like they have but they wont.

ESPN's Jon Robinson has posted the first Madden NFL 25 screenshot, as well as a few details on the new Run Free Ball Carrier feature.

Why I don't like it.. Look at the 2 pics and see how different they are? Madden Foster looks like he is white, has no tattoos, and the worst is how skinny he looks.. The player models still look off and a bit cartoony.. At least the lighting looks good..

That's the best they can do for The first screenshot?

God help us all, it's gonna be a disaster.

While he looks skinny compared to the picture you posted, compared to the other character model (Von Miller) his size looks about right. I think the skin color has more to do with the new lighting effects than the hue. The missing tattoo's has nothing to do with EA, Roger Goodell won't allow them in video games he thinks it creates a negative image. But at the end of the day it is a video game. It is never going to look ultra-photo realistic to everybody. There will always be something that's off to some people.

I'd say it about represents Foster well aside from the lower body being a bit thin
