Unprecedented ball carrier control and precision
The ball carrier can already zig zag all over the field on a dime, how much more precision does he need? This just sounds like more arcade style gaming that has become a staple in Madden.

Also, this is just the first bit of news, we don't know much of anything at this stage.

According to WyzaTV, the infinity engine is very much refined already from 13....

wow you just brought that to my attention. It SEEMS as though EA's main focus is the idea of creating a revolutionary feature to keep the game fresh instead of first fixing the issue. Is this going to be another gimmick? Sure it may even be cool and people might enjoy this feature, but again I dont believe that they have seriously thought of fixing the running game, but rather just a way to make it fun.

Looks like Foster still has the same generic face as he had in madden 13😔

Props for finding that "leak" in that rather long MUT video because I would have never paid it any mind otherwise, due to it being mainly about MUT. Anyway, yeah he pretty much let it slip that the slipping and sliding of old is allegedly fixed but wait and see of course.

The bigger news out of this for me was the fact that they were already playing M25, which makes me wish even more that they would release actual game play, like someone mentioned in the NCAA forum that Battlefield 4 did, when hyping the game, not the usual stuff. He mentioned that they were at Tiburon for MUT but got the chance to give feedback on game play anyway. So what better way to get feedback from a vast amount of gamers than by releasing game play to the public, whenever it's time for video to be released.

I watched that whole 17 minutes of game play for Battlefield 4 and I don't even play the game but that was far more hyping than an edited trailer.

Agreed, if they finally added foot-planting and momentum to the ball carrier, they must do the same for the defense and the rest of the players on the field. Or it just won't be right, you will end up having the ball carrier juking and the defense not even reacting to it, like it's always been.

Re: First Madden NFL 25 Screenshot, First Details on Run Free Ball Carrier Feature

...quick excerpt from my blog. Would you guys welcome a control scheme like this?

Quote:
- Precision running LT + LS - This would be mainly used for finding the hole in the back field. Holding LT shortens the ball carrier's steps to help time hitting the hole. Holding LT and pressing the LS left or right would result in the ball carrier to sidestep to that direction instead of turning, this way your always facing upfield (I hate having to juke my own players to get out of the backfield). This will help get around and avoid your own blockers easier. Imagine how satisfying it would feel being able to side step into the hole, letting go of the LT, and watching the ball carrier explode upfield. Ratings would tie in very well with this. ex. Adrian peterson would feel more explosive than a cedric benson. This would be perfect when they implement their all new foot-planting/momentum system in madden 14.
- Stutter Step/ Shake N Bake Moves LT + RS - As you are in this sort of controlled speed with LT, you will be able to perform more precise quick special moves with the RS. Imagine the possibility of being able to do things like a quick stutter step (LT + RS) then going right into a spin (RS). Combinations like this will really give people with still skills an edge over their competition.

**LT is a "tension" mechanic on the offensive side of the ball. Holding LT would also naturally be used to sort of slow down, tense up, and protect the ball. Those who are conservative and patient would benefit most with this running mechanic and bring a whole new style to the run game.
RT would then be speed burst. Precise movement would obviously be much harder and performing jukes and cuts would be much different at this speed.
