I know its a small thing but I hate that the cpu defensive alignment is always the same.

Click in on right stick, survey the field, and its always straight away at the exact same depth, never changes

Should not be the case. I'll double check tomorrow, but I think you may be letting hyperbole take over here...

Well, lets see...

I've played no less than 100 innings and have checked the defense nearly every at bat. They look the same every time.

I would love it if I were wrong!

And, thanks for checking

Middle infielders should be changing depth for DPs, corners guarding against the bunt in certain situations (like no outs, runner on 1B, pitcher up to bat), shifts should be put on when certain batters are at the plate (try Teixeria or Ortiz por ejemplo), etc.

The only thing I would like to see more in this regards is more shifts(regular...not the extreme like Ortiz) for the new push/pull system.

Other than that...yes...I do see bunt defenses.....and DP depth....
I don't recall seeing the guard the lines...but I haven't looked close this year yet.

Definitely not the case... simply take an at-bat with Carl Crawford or Prince Fielder. The CPU absolutely employs extreme defensive positioning against them. It even changes if someone is in base in front of them.

Re: Operation Sports MLB 13 The Show Community Impressions Thread

Just for clarification, I'm primarily referring to the outfield and I'm referring to the cpu defense.

If everyone who has the game (since we all use different teams we could test a lot of hitters) could check the cpu outfield alignment please?

I have not seen any alignment but straight away and regular depth.

It is not a big deal. It only slightly takes away from the immersion. Obviously, I still love the game.

Strange. I used Fielder today and did not notice any change. But, its possible I didn't click for him. When I get my TV back from the women watching The Bachelor, I'll check again.

This would be great if you are right but outfielders should be aligning for more than just a couple of big name stars.
