I guess since I'm used to seeing a "Bugs/Glitches" thread, using the find feature and typing "bugs" wasn't going to help find the new bug thread.

My only two problems thus far with the game:

1. Pitch Stuttering issue: I've had it happen about four times in two games thus far. It's something that needs to be fixed because it's really the only bad mark for an otherwise terriffic game.

2.Baserunning: I've had trouble baserunning in my two games. I use classic baserunning and it's not as responsive as previous year's. There were at least a couple times where I told the runners to advance and then proceeded to not advance, costing me a run.

Now the to the Good:

-The bat feels like it has weight to it this year. When you make contact with the sweet part of the bat, you definitely feel it this year. Anyone who has played baseball knows when they have ripped a pitch from just the feeling off the bat, and this is the first time it's ever been implemented into a videogame.

-Pitch Speed- Possibly the biggest change has been an adjustment in pitch speed and the timing window which has really opened up hitting on the default difficulties. This is much needed as last year the default pitch speeds were very fast, and for anyone who claims this makes the game easier, you can always adjust the sliders and tailor pitch speed to your fast twitch reflexes.

-The booth is better than ever. Lyons is an upgrade over campbell. Never really thought the booth was bad, to me the Show is so immersive I don't pay much attention to commentary anyway. The new scorebug is really cool, probably one of the first games expcept for madden that actually has a semi-realistic scorebug.

-The new fielding meter is very cool and takes a while to get used to.

Overall, the game is great but the stuttering issues should be fixed and I expect it will be fixed given SCEA's track record servicing their games in the past.

Ugh...
Played my 2nd Postseason to try and get redemption for losing in the Wild Card game last time... Deja Vu, believe it or not...
This time facing the As, Im winning with 2 outs in the 9th, then Hanrahan gives up a 2-run shot to ex-Red Sox Brandon Moss to tie it...
Then in extra innings another ex-Red Sox Jed Lowrie hits a 3-run homer to win it... I am distraught right now... I think its time to try another team, maybe an NL team...
Overall it was a fantastic game except for losing yet again in the Wild Card game...
Hopefully third times a charm!

Ok was able to play a few games last night late after work so I am posting my impressions now.

PROS
-very polished. the player models, animations, colors, textures all got a boost and the more I play it the more its looking less like 12.
-hit variety. I've seen about a dozen new hits (all singles) whether it be up the middle or a blooper over the first basemans head. Very nice to see.
-swing follow throughs are realistic and natural. No more Albert Pujols 2-handed follow through. His swing looks like his swing.
Cyber faces....need I say more. Huge Fantasy Draft guy and the little addition of this is exactly what I had hoped for.

CONS
- commentary overlapping. I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but MV will call out someing after a pitch and a few seconds after you'll hear it again. Almost like the "row row row your boat..." song when sung with multiple people.
-cut scene stuttering. Haven't experienced the pitch stutter yet, but through the cutscenes they are all over the place. I feel like my ps3 is freezing.
-CPU 1st pitch strikes. Had played a game where Vance Worley threw 22/23 1stpitch strikes. It's Vance Worley people....even arrogant, homer Philly fans and optimistic Twin fans would agree he's not THAT accurate.
-no HUM power. Have been playing on default all star...first game 12 hits 11 were singles. 1 HR by Drew Stubbs. I don't like messing with sliders til one of the experts post something or I play at least 5-10 games, so we'll see how that goes moving forward.

Overall it's a very good game for being the last that SCEA has to work on for the PS3. They easily could have slapped Andrew McCutchen on a 12 box and shipped it, but there are some refreshing new features and little things that show they worked hard on this release. Looking forward to Knights rosters which of course gives the game another 10000 PRO points IMHO.

Just ran an off season with me in control of the Yankees and the other 29 teams set to auto for everything. I only had limited chances to do this at CD and let me tell you it is a thing of beauty. So much harder now to stay within your means.

You have to really plot your offseason out. I thought budgets might have been a tad, high considering the lower contracts, boy was I wrong.

Just before we left they add a pending contracts notification that tells how much you have out in offers. If you have more money out than your budget, which is on the left(It pulls the offers) Even if it looks like you have the money the cpu budgets some money to fill your roster. You really need to be creative and look for those "cheap' declining vets to fill your squad.

In the offseason, I had, I offered Granderson a low ball contract and qualified him with the hopes he would walk, HE ACCEPTED!!!! stuck with 8 million deal, with that and Cano's 22million I was essential broke. I had to swing a deal to unload Grandy to have money for a closer and fill my roster.

Another cool thing is players ask for different amounts based on the team. Beltran only asked for 800K from me, then turned around and signed with Boston for 2/22. Grandy wanted 8 million from me and when I went to the Twins he was asking for 6.

Only negative is that while in 30 team I would step in and offer a deal and the cpu would sometimes pull it, because I assume it didn't fit their strategy.

I'm going to post my cons of this game because everyone has already posted the pros.

Stuttering- it completely throws off your timing. I've seen it at least once in the 5 or so games I've played so far. I can deal with stutter on cut scenes and stuff like that, but it's a game killer when it affects the actual gameplay.

Fielding- This is mostly about infielders. I'm seeing way too many mistakes on routine ground balls. Guys going to pick up the ball and just missing it. I understand it happens in baseball, but nowhere near as much as it does in this game.

AI decision making- Every game there seems to be some ridiculous steal attempt, or some other head scratching decision. I just played a game against the Yankees where Kevin Youkilis attempted to steal twice. It was completely unrealistic IMO.

Overall I'm enjoying the game. It's frustrating at times, but that's the way baseball is. I think I'll enjoy it more as I get better at the game. Right now I'm swinging at way too many bad pitches.
