Blzr,

There is a report that 2k13 offers 2v2 online. Can you confirm that, online probably isn't available yet now that I think of it.

Also, can you do coop? 2 on the same team offline? Can you confirm if that is in or not?

THanks

Edit:

Just zoomed way in on the screen shot of the back of the box and saw it does indeed say online mulitplayer 2-2;

what about offline? that would warrant my purchse

I never checked. Maybe if I go back tomorrow or something I'll let you know.

Oh, and funny story before I started recording. So I picked up the controller and went straight into the settings, and then this kid (no older than ten years old) runs up and says, "I'm Player 2. Let's play some baseballll!" I said okay, and backed out, but autosave was on so it was saving. He got really impatient, but didn't really understand what was going on. I think there was something wrong with him, but it didn't excuse his character.

Anyway, so he starts pounding on the other controller a little bit and it goes through the Play Ball screen and fires up a game. He says, "What the hell? I didn't choose Player 2. You bastard!" I forgave that because he could've been talking to the game and not me, but he was yelling at me to "make him Player 2" while it was loading up the game. I was just standing there wondering where his negligent parents were, because he needed to be with them and not disturb me when I'm trying to record videos for OS.

I finally get him to be the Giants as I was the Tigers and we start up, and I was up maybe 8-0 before he finally said, "No more baseball. I'm not Player 2 anymore" and left. I immediately quit the game, changed the rest of the settings, and we were good to go!

But I will also say this is a good example of why 2K ought to be promoting their freaking game. Flying through at-bats, ignoring inside edge information, turing off the strike zone so you lose batter's eye all make the game seem way more shallow than it is. You are not familiar with 2K12, so it seemed like you didn't understand the overuse signal.

I know you have limited time, and I don't blame you for opting for aesthetics over data, but it kind of highlights why so many people don't get what 2K did that made 2K12 such a good game. Obviously aesthetics is not one of those.

come on man. its blzr we are talking about here.
did you quote the wrong post? lol

If I remember them correctly:

Batting camera - Batting (Zoom - 5, Height - 6... but these might be switched)
Pitching camera - Broadcast (adjust accordingly... increase zoom and lower angle if batter feels too far)
Fielding camera - High (Zoom - 1/2/3, Height - 7/8/9... whatever looks best to you here)
Baserunning camera - Follow (forget Zoom and Height)

I tried to make it kind of far out, but I obviously wasn't given enough options like the Fielding cam gives you.

But like I said, 2K10 didn't have this stuff at all. I'm just glad this game does.
I remember home plate from last year, was follow last year or is that new this year? After watching again, yes, follow is a bit better for sure.

Home Plate has been in the game since 2K11 and is still the game's "Baserunning" default. Follow is like 2K10's camera, only now you can adjust some settings for it. In fact, it's funny because they have a presentation option that allow you to do "Real Time," "Hurry Up," or I believe an option was "2K10." I kind of chuckled when I saw that, and stuck to Real Time (although you'll see me skip through some sequences to get as much out of my camera battery as possible).

Re: Some MLB 2K13 Ratings Revealed, Along with a Few Shaky-Cam Videos and Impressions

Thanks for the videos.

I also play with the zone and all that stuff turned off. I like a more natural, HUDless look although I may have to try the batter's eye this year (if I can use it without the zone display).

Overall it looks like 2K did very little to get this game ready. Not that I didn't love 2K12 - it was my favorite in the series. I appreciate the new commentary and color tweaks but frankly don't see a whole lot more. At least outsource some new artwork for the overlays and menus.

I'll still buy the game because I am blind fanboy but I hope it gets raked over the coals by the media. Not only a bad review but so bad a review it hurts sales and has rippling effects on 2Ks reputation as a publisher. It would server them right if this game soured reviewers on 2K and led to all of their games being more scrutinized.
