Wow, I'm not a troll anymore. I'm the resident troll now ! This is ridiculous. God forbid someone dislike the game. It's just not possible.

After not buying MLB 2k for 4-5 years, I switched over last year and ended up really enjoyng it. The game gets a bad rap for reasons beyond me.

In my opinion, the pitching was the best part of the game (so fun), plus there's a few things in the franchise mode that really got my attention. I did miss some things from the other baseball games franchise mode and if I make the switch back this year I'm sure that I'll miss parts of this game's franchise mode, as well.

As I said last year, if the two games franchise modes were ever combined then I think we would have one Hell of a baseball game. Until then I think I'll just continue flipping every year.

I didn't think 12 was that bad....I'll still get it because it's the only baseball game available to me (XBox 360) and I am interested in seeing who'll pick up the license for 2014 (I think it will be EA Sports and to me that's a double edged sword...EA Sports has been hit and miss with their titles the last few years)

The MLB series ISN'T that bad. I like its combination of arcade/simulation. The pitching in the MLB series is actually FUN.

I'm still disappointed that the morons over at 2K still haven't been able to get the jersey colors correct. Absolutely ridiculous.

Totally agree. Even though we are beating a dead horse here, it still blows my mind. How does this happen? All games have their issues, but as a developer do you want a blatant inaccuracy like uni color to jump out at users as soon as they start up a game?....before the first pitch has even been thrown? It really hurts the creditibility and makes a bad first impression.

And while I hate the Yankees....with a passion. They are the freakin' flagship franchise of the sport. You can't mess up thier unis. It kills the immersion. Almost as bad is botching the uniform of your cover athelete. How does that happen?....Can't 2K look at thier OWN COVER and campare it to the game and realize "Uh...hey, uh something doesn't look right here". I am baffled.

But this thread is exactly why they don't need to take time releasing videos of gameplay. All it does is provide a platform for people predisposed to complain, that weren't buying anyway, to rag on the game.
They're not marketing the game though. What do we know about it? There's a roster update and another challenge thing. Can't even say they changed anything.

Exactly. This is where you are supposed to explain how marketing a roster update and no new features is supposed to help them sell more games.

If they were pounding away at marketing and telling everyone how much more awesome the game would be this year, THAT would disrespectful. They are releasing what people hoped they would when the game was no longer going to be released.

We can debate how much the game is worth, but I guarantee you that MLB doesn't want the gam to come out as a budget title. This entire release is to appease MLB, who are trying to just get a product out on the shelves.

I've said countless times, the game won't be worth $60 to most consumers. Their marketing, or lack therof pretty much confirms this. What is so hard to understand? They hav laid it out for you. You need information to buy the game. They aren't giving it to you. Don't buy the game.

All they are dong is the standard Perfect Game giveaway which accomplishes one thing. It gets them a blurb on a broad spectrum of news outlets. Those news outlets tend to have no clue what is good or bad, nor care. But it is just enough to let a bunch of casual gamers know that a new game is out. That's marketing to sell games.
