I thought you were about to break out into Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

Are you saying that The Show is a terrible game and that MLB 2K12 blows it out of the water, or that MLB 2K12 is terrible and The Show blows it out of the water?
Response here.

oh lord, please do not have him type anything else.

As far as 2k13, I decided to sell some older games and get this on release day as well.
personally, I don't care that much if there are no new features. I imagine there will be bug fixes [along with the obvious roster update], and that's all I need because 2k12 was franchise mode nirvana for me, even with the bugs. But if they focus on cleaning that up in the 6 or so weeks they had to work on it. It's all good.
Should it be less than 60? sure, but I don't buy many games new, so...
130 dollars spent on march 5th.
oh brother.

Can you elaborate how you made it franchise nirvana?

I'm not sure I would call it franchise nirvana, as much as single season mode nirvana.

Running the team day-to-day is a blast. There are oodles of stats and reports. Fatigue plays an important role in managing your pitching staff, and really provides a good blueprint for using your utility players.

The hot and cold mechanic doesn't overpower or kill off a player, but is jut enough of a boost to provide that extra or less confidence you get in a guy when he is going well in real life. It's perfectly balanced and doesn't kill the realism, which was my fear going in.

Using pitch count to track pitcher fatigue lets you roll into a series and try to protect your bullpen, or utilize it even more when it is fresh and days off are coming. By the same token, if your opponent has a tired bullpen, working the count can be really effective in exposing their weakness.

And the presentation shines as you get deeper into the season, as the stat tracking and commentary contributes to the story of the season.

Franchise mode got so good this year that the dorked MLB today mode didn't bother me at all.

Oread I played two series in franchise today playing 1 game each and simming the rest and I can really see how managing the bullpen is a must. I'm tempted to manage the other two games instead of simming them just to ensure my manager doesn't leave me with no one available to relief pitch.

One of the reasons I call it a single season mode is that managing day-to-day is so much fun that is is unrealistic for most people to play more than a full season, if even that much. I don't sim anything, and games take so long that if you play any other games, watch TV, read books, and other stuff, that playing multiple seasons would be hard.

If we were not getting 2K13, I'd happily keep running my 2K12 franchise, even with the wrong divisions. It would just be an alternate universe, like Fringe.

I'm sorry, by manage I mean super-sim just to monitor my bullpen usage in games I don't play.
