No offense, wasn't meant as a knock on casual players or something. Just abou the fact that realism hasn't been a focus after 2k11. Smart business I guess.

About rating Lebron/Durant and so on...If you look at midrange percentages, there's almost no difference between Kobe, Lebron and Durant this year. They should be rated equal in this regard.
In fact, I'd go as far to say that Durant might even be a bit overrated in terms of midrange shooting, he is elite for volume scorers but not better than the other top players.
And looking at his game, a lot of his efficiency comes from his great 3pt shooting, so defenders have to play him too tight to prevent a drive.
He's not even shooting that much from midrange this year.

The best midrange players this year who create shots for themselves are Irving, Paul and Nash. They should have at least the same rating as Melo/Kobe/Durant, their efficiency is that good.
I think the whole league is much closer together in terms of ability than 2ks ratings. If you look at Hoopdata shot locations, you'll find that there's almost no difference between the superstars and 2nd to 3rd tier guards in terms of their midrange efficiency.
What I'm saying is that guys like Lillard, Mayo and even Kemba Walker are just as efficient as top superstars from this area. I think 2k could reflect that in future updates.
And before somebody says things about "you can't give them the same rating as Durant"...yes you can, and you should if the stats support that.

2k should look at the whole package, I mean a small unathletic PG like Nash won't dominate as an iso scorer even with mid at 99. So by looking at actual stats 2k won't break the game but maybe get away from making a difference between the few megastars and the rest of the league, which is in fact much more skilled than 2k gives them credit for.
Kemba is great from midrange this year, as good as anybody. Would a high rating make him unrealistic? Not if he gets the other ratings correct, too. He's shooting like 30% from close and 32% from 3pt, so he won't dominate. But in this particular area, he's just as efficient as any other main option in the league.

Good catch, I absolutely do care. Here's his changes, and LaMarcus Aldridge's (it didn't affect his overall) that I found for anyone else that cares:

Devin Ebanks:
Inside: 73 (-6)
Med: 71 (-8)
3PT: 53 (+21)
FT: 72 (+2)
Steal: 58 (-6)
Hands: 61 (-7)
OBD: 72 (-6)
Def Aware: 60 (-5)

LaMarcus Aldridge:
Med: 88 (-4)

I thought "nerfed" meant over-rating players not decreasing their overall?

Tristan Thompson on the cavs deserves a boost. Last 10 games or so he is averaging 14 ppg and 12 rpg. Up from his usual statlibe of around 9 and 9

Does anyone else think that Metta World Peace should have his Defensive Rebound rating increased? Even though I'm a Laker fan, I am trying to be totally unbiased on this. He recorded a career high in rebounds this season and he is playing the 4 a lot more now. It just seems like a 38 in defensive rebounding isn't doing him justice. What do you guys think?

Even though Metta is good at defense, that is the only thing that prevents me from throwing Metta on the floor. I also think that his on ball defense and steal rating should be increased, but in this aspect I would be being biased.
