With the crushing weight of exclusivity off of them....more cabbage can be directed towards development.

If they did I would wager it wasn't the whole team since they would have to carry those salaries this whole time in HOPES they get the contract where they want it. I hope I am wrong but it does seem feasible they would go for the initial savings in case they couldn't get their price.

I figured something was up when I logged on to play MLB 2K12, and it prompted me to download a patch which fixes the freezing glitch.

As a PS3 owner I'll be sticking with the Show. However this is still great news for 360 owners & also for 2K. Glad they've come to an arrangement with powers that be. Whether MLB 2K13 will see much change from last years game is questionable unless 2K have been working on the game for the whole 12 months in anticipation of a new deal.
