Xbox 360

Also update the team and NBA records. They are the same records from a couple of years ago and outdated. Example: it still says Kevin Garnett has the Timberwolves record for most rebounds with 25. While on November 12, 2010 Kevin Love had his 30-30 game. With 31 points and 31 rebounds. Can you fix this it looks a bit lazy that those records aren't updated for 3 years now.

And why does it often happen that when I want to play MyCareer it says Cannot connect to 2k servers. While NBA-today and the association mode are able to connect with the 2k servers. Its only unable to connect with MyCareer. I want to continue MyCareer but like this that isn't possible.

Step it up!!! You make a great game but with all those bugs and glitches it's hard to have fun while playing. If you want to make a detailed game. Make sure the details are correct. Somethings that where working last year are broken now. accessories for example. Why cant you pick a home and away color. Why is the secondary team color for all teams white. For me it's the details that can make a good game great. But now i'm still waiting, for a potentially great game, to become good.

This patch is ok. I really expected more out of the patch than what was given. I really only play online so the issues in online mode to me still exist. I would like to make a list of these things in my very own opinion as follows:

ONLINE MODE ONLY

THREE POINT SHOOTING: To me it is imperative the the 2k dev teams dosen't under stand the difficulty in hitting a three point shot, better yet a contested one.
here are a little facts that you can examine from great 3point shooters and their aren't alot of these guys.

NBA All Time Leaders 3 Point Field Goal Percentage Three point percentage statistics have been kept since the start of the 1979-80 season.

Now as we review this most of these players are what is called a SPOT UP SHOOTER. Now i will give yo my definition of what this is: a spot up shooter is a person who can stay in one spot on the court when you pass him the ball and he hits the shot allot almost every time. To me this means that the player needs to be stationary (in place), in position when shooting the ball. To me this also means that the team in most cases is running a specific play for the player that frees up the player so that they can have an uncontested shot. In most cases of online play, most of the people that are playing haven't played a lick of organized basketball, so with that said they don't understand how this should really work when you are playing a simulation style basketball game not an arcade style basketball game. It tires me to see when playing online games. Players depending on the three point shot and 2k allowing them to hit these shots with such high percentages. Players run up to the three point line full speed, pull up and hit three points like no tomorrow. Players fade back and hit three pointers like no tomorrow and the biggest one of all players hit contested shots like no one is there.

Now i know these things in my opinion can be fixed if the 2k devs want to fix them. I have been a 2k fan since dreamcast and have converted true basketball fans to the 2k series for years due to the fact of it having a more simulation style than NBA LIVE or any of the other basketball games out there. To me most teams in the NBA are hitting three point shots about 38% of the time and that's when their shooters are having plays called for them in the flow of the offense.

This issue to me really needs to be addressed because these games are also an educational tool for people to teach them how to play basketball correctly. Most players don't use the post in this game for one because they don't understand that using the post successfully opens up the perimeter for easier outside shots. If a team is shooting alot of three pointers in a game. The coach will adjust as needed and the A.I. in the game should do the same, but this dosen't happen. Players continue to leave the great shooters on teams wide open even if you make coaching adjustments in the coach profile settings such as: lowering the help defense to 0 and lowering double teams to 0. You can also make additional adjustments in defensive settings along with this: such as tight defense and deny ball. When you make these adjustments players continue mindlessly disobey the commands in which you have just set. When you make these adjustments as a player you understand that some player will get beat one on one when player is driving to the basket because this should be the adjustment that the offense makes and you are willing to live with that because shooters or spot up shooters are being guarded unless specific plays are called for these players to free them up.

As i said before these are my opinions and these are also things that i think the DEVS need to take into consideration in regards to these issues.

I really think that you guys really need to step it up because this can really be a great game if you tone down the all of the flashy stuff and stick to real basketball. A lot of times when you don't have competition you feel you can get away with anything because their is nothing else to measure yourself by. I have been a fan for a long time and now this game in my opinion is starting to take a turn in the wrong direction and it's not good. YOU CAN DO IT 2K, BUT ONLY IF YOU WANT TO.

My next post will be about rebounding and the importance of rebounding and also how this game in most cases chooses who they want to get the rebound and also how players almost never box each other out and so far i haven't figured out a way to manually do this when in the past you were capable.

Re: NBA 2K13 Patch 1.02 Released, Details Included, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3,

I literally watched Tyson Chandler look at the opposing PG drive to the goal for a open lay up, the rotation D is terrible, i even tried turning up the Help D but it doesnt help either. Then its no point of having Defensive awareness in the game cause my defenders act lost when some is around them even with i have play tight on the ball handler, then i cant block a dunk to save my life, i got dunked on by rondo when i tried jumping somehow i put behind the basket by a unknown force, or ill watch my hand go right thru the ball. I cant believe i bought the Dynasty Edition, i really should of just took it from someone

Re: NBA 2K13 Patch 1.02 Released, Details Included, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3,

Okay, so I'm NOT gonna adress to what a lot of people here may already have adressed, which is the reach in fouls in My Career mode the same way most of them are doing it.

So, I'm not here to talk a lot about how it is too damn easy to get a foul out of it, even though I do agree it is rather exaggerated. (Personally, I think the 2k12 system of the reach in fouls was a nice balance between the way 2k13 is now and how it was pre-patch)

My main point here is that the TENDENCIES of my TEAMMATES to go reach in for the ball handler wasn't changed at all! They keep poking at the ball like they did before and getting called for a foul as easily as I would if I would try for a steal on the ball! And that ruins good defensive posetions AND it gets my teammates into foul trouble IF NOT out of the game with 6 fouls!

I'm at my conf. finals in my current gameplay and it just makes me RAGE that my teammates keep fouling people out of this silly overlook from the patch developers! Because of playing it at Hall of Fame, I still think the playoffs gameplay is more difficult than regular season games.

Please, PLEASE, if you're not gonna change the reach in foul sliders for My Career, AT LEAST make my teammates stop trying to do on-ball steals!

I don't get why you can play on HOF using simulation sliders and still win averaging 35 and 8 and 15 without calling plays, and not even using a third or maybe even a quarter of the controls available to you. IN real life you see players having to adjust shorts, use hop stops, reverse layups, post moves. I mean getting tons of stats in NBA2K just seems too easy (At lease for guys like Chris Smoove and the rest of the YouTube Commentators) It would be a lot more interesting if you have the put out the whole arsenal like real life players do to win and score. I get it's a game, but if you aren't using most of the controls the game gives you, then it's like how does that represent the real-like NBA? Makes sense?

Better point. I don't get why you can play on HOF, using sim sliders and still win 80% of your games, averaging 35 and 8 and 15 without calling multiple plays, and without using a quarter of the controls available to you? Getting tons of stats in NBA2K just seems too easy (At lease for guys like Smoove) It would be a lot more interesting if you have the put out the whole arsenal like real life players do. Point is, I don't get why 2K calls that sim, it seems more like arcade.

Re: NBA 2K13 Patch 1.02 Released, Details Included, Post Your Impressions Here (PS3,

@Blessin

I hope I understand what you mean? That the game is getting repetitive?

Every game plays and looks too similar. Jumpshot there, layup there, maybe a fastbreak there. I've been playing this game since 2K11 and I should be able to do some special moves but somehow I can't make it look special or even rewarding when I score. I wish I could play like Kobe and do certain moves like he does IRL but some things are impossible to do so.

I do wish the PG would use more plays for everyone, each player has 12 plays or more (I think that's correct) and he only uses a fixed set of 4 for me.

The CPU AI has definitely been improved over the years but it has never got that improvement where I can say, ok now it's business.

I also wished that teams would double team me more often or make it unbelievably hard for me to score. Knowing that I'm a top 5 player in the league and can score as easily as Melo. Try to stop me.

MyCareer

I had 5 fouls in the 3rd quarter with 8 minutes to go. Coach doesn't sub me out. I foul out at the end of the 3rd and I get this balloon with him saying "We'll get you back on the court ASAP".

What's the logic in this? He doesn't realize I fouled out?

Reaching Fouls

It's so easy to make your opponent foul you. When you inbound the ball on their half, post up and when you are in between players they will reach. Or just post up and if someone is close enough they will.

Like someone mentioned at the top of the page, the tendencies for reaching in were left untouched. It would be a lot of work to change that so all 2K has to do is bring it back the way it was pre-patch. Only for offline, online it's good.

I actually got 6 steals during 1 game enough for Gary Payton to follow me. I only stole the ball 2 teams off a pass the others I just walked in to or they threw it against me. It's all about luck and bad physics.
