Developer Posts Wrong NBA 2K13 Roster Update, New Roster Arrives Tomorrow

Noticed the mess up I guess. They have Harden on HOU, but still Cook, Aldrich on OKC.

Is anyone having issues with 2K share, I want to download draft classes for dynasty mode.

I don't think the 2K Insider actually exists. They can afford to have him be a running joke because he's not someone who actually works at the office.

He's also become a convenient scapegoat for 2K, as we all blame "The Insider" for lackluster ratings and roster updates. It sort of puts distance between roster inadequacies and 2K itself, since folks think things will magically improve if 2K just fired the Insider.

I think the Insider is just some intern or gameplay dev on break, and that dev might not be particularly passionate about the NBA or rosters and wanting to get every little thing correct. Compare that to the work folks here put into their own rosters. 2K would make their game play so much better for so many people if they would simply contract a couple of these guys for a small fee. I bet they'd even agree to having their work distributed as part of 2K's official rosters for free.

If your game had too many bugs you were screwed so they tested their game extensively. Today it seems, because of the deadline problems they are facing, is the lack of testing. A company like 2K should use their brains and let us, the audience, 2K players, test the game extensively 2 months ahead, 1 month ahead, 2 weeks before the release and then play the final game 1 week before it comes out. So that when millions of people who buy the game get a proper game without the most obvious errors. How in the hell is it possible that 2K doesn't notice the MyCareer glitch? How is it possible that the scoreboard dissappears? How is it even possible that 2K thought the autosave would be a good thing? I seriously can't believe that 2K actually tested this game, no way on earth. I see the most stupid things. Play 10 hours and you'll notice them. I'm really wondering what is going on with 2K. I knew this would happen if EA didn't release an NBA game this year. 2K sports is good at hyping the **** out of this game. They spent a lot of money and time (I know, this is the marketing department who does this) on hiring Jay-Z and probably paying for Bieber and other nonsense. Next time they should use the few 100k/millions they got on hiring new educated and smart people who do their job properly. The basics -gameplay- first (I must say, I like the game this year, 2K12 was horrible we all know that), and then keep yourself busy with what the little kids would like. EA ****ed up big time, it's a sad thing. I'm 99% positive that 2K would treat us customers in a totally different way when there would be competition with EA Sports. 2K sports is a company that doesn't know how to communicate and leaves us in the dark.

Well said. And sadly, they do this every year. They released unfinished and untested products to the public, then they patched it months later. I still enjoy playing the game very much, but these little issues just take the fun out of it.

If the current roster is "old" and uploaded by mistake, why does it take a whole day to upload the "new" one that's correct? It's only 3:31pm out here in the Bay Area. Weird. :P

Unless they're trying to make changes and corrections-- then I have to ask, what were they doing in the last few weeks knowing today was Opening Day?

I mean, mistakes happen and balls get dropped, but this particular slip-up really indicates that rosters and post-release support isn't a high priority internally. These areas aren't adequately staffed if it's even staffed at all, and resources to work on them aren't really being tightly scheduled. If I had to guess, it's probably more of a "make sure you get Harden in the roster update after you pick up coffee for us" sort of thing.
