Exactly! The ONLY time I feel it goes to far is when you start:

1. Calling for folks to be fired.
2. Insulting the intelligence and motivation of the dev teams. They are there for a reason! If the crap was easy, why haven't YOU done it already.
3. Just straight lying about issues that don't exist. (This is VERY rare, but it does happen and it's just wrong.)

You can say something is dog****. But calling the dev team a bunch of idiots is FAR across the line.

Let's keep topics on the direction of this series, and how it went completely downhill, when they decide to keep working on areas of the game that aren't broken. (Controls) Me, Sageinfinite, Tocory and a few others did a blog about this and I will post it in my Arena on Wednesday. Let's you listen to unbiased and open minded gamers speak the truth about this series. Some of you guys are so fanbased biased, that your hatred won't even let you see the areas they got right. The company has made a hell of a lot of mistakes over the past 3 years, but don't act like they haven't did anything right! We all lose when it comes to the lack of competition and change, I give them credit for making each title feel different each year, but I blast them for changing areas that weren't broken too. Let's hope a 3 year hiatus will open their eyes! I won't be looking forward to a 14 until it has mass marketing and goes gold on the market.

I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing up the nfl license and making a connection to what is happening here. I referenced karma because EA's money could not save them from getting ko'd in basketball

YOU mentioned that we all lose based on lack of competition and change. EA's acquisition of the NFL license changed the game eliminating nfl game competition. It's true that the nfl was a part of this too but I've always questioned the timing of that move when 2k was set to do serious damage to EA's profits in nfl gaming. The suits ea and nfl made that decision and many here including myself felt it was a save your *** move by EA because of nfl 2k5. This is why 2k countered with cutting ea off in the MLB department. I believe both ea and 2k initiated the talks with their respective counterparts which eventually led to where we are now. In contrast, Here it was HEALTHY COMPETITION resulting in the demise of nba live or elite. EA could not keep up with 2k. This is also based on decisions by the suits and this is sometimes how healthy competition works. 2k played fair and square while ea dropped the ball -- blame it on the suits/ developers whoever. Either way 2k 's nba is high level and but for us being spoiled every year with a new game, 2k11 could still hold water today if it needed to.

Lastly the title of this thread is general-- live is being canned. Opinions regarding this matter are within the context of the thread even if u don't like or agree with the subject matter.

Someone should be fired, but not the devs. The guy who is playing politlician with the franchise. Probably a suit. The devs have a vision, probably. Wang did. They didn't agree with it. Whoever is the person or persons who didn't agree with it and playing politician, THAT guy should be fired. Don't worry about him/them. They most likely will find another job asap or sit on the million they have already and call it a day.

Ido feel sorry for the guys that have given insight or constructive criticism but you can't blame EA for not posting here anymore. That falls on the mods and owner for allowing the rampant bashing. I still feel the word canned is derogatory and a take that rather than informative. Find me another major gaming forum/website that allows articles to be posted like that or millisecond clips of pierces face in a bad animation to represent the failures of the entire game and justification for the hate.

Like I said if you do care go post and speak your mind.

Was Live ever available on PC?... If not, might explain why EA are so far behind. They could have just taken the latest version and take what some of the modders do to the game and they would essentially have the next version. The modding community is truly amazing and can turn a half decent game into a very addictive and amazing game.

I understand EA tries to avoid open platforms, but it's one of those things where you have to be careful what you wish for. An open platform can help sometimes. Whereas if you offer your game only on a closed platform and want to maintain complete control over the game, you limit yourself in some ways.
