People like broadcast view because it literally looks like a generation ahead of 2k view graphically...2k view makes the game look like a original Xbox game lol.

I honestly feel like people don't like the dribble stick because to actually use it to it's full potential you have to actually know basketball. When to do moves, how you bait your defender, read then react, what type of shot to pull after the defender takes the bait. It's maddd creative.

You guys are going to be missing out.
I gotta disagree with you... The point of the dribble stick is to make it EASIER to pull of moves and in the case of 2k13, pulling of hard moves in just a flick of a button and therefore removed that 'feel' for the user actually making the dribble. The 'creative' factor you mentioned was also the same for the old style... But it's different for everyone else. It's good that they have given the option to go with either way of dribbling.

I'm really liking the demo. A lot. I was not a fan of 2K12. Most of my issues with that game appear to be ironed out.

Only negatives I see so far is that there's still a little too much sliding off of defenders. Too little contact. Or contact having too little of an effect. Also, too many crossovers are happening when really close to the defender.

Only other gripe is the Perkins seems to be a little too graceful. Some of his finishes were a little too finesse and too pretty for Perk. Need to be more deliberate and slow.

Just made a buzzer beater online and the refs checked the replay if I released the shot in time. Nice.

Wish I had Kinect so I could switch the cams.

I see it all the time when I attempt to get a good game online. Hesistation, step backs, cross overs and such don't apply to these guys. They're turbo turbo turbo, dunk dunk dunk all day.

They're not happy that they actually have to work and learn something new, that would in the end benefit them. I don't understand how one can be upset that they have FULL control of the moves their player does on the court.
This is so true! When you play randoms online they just turbo and dunk. Nothing difficult, nothing to make them sweat and use strategy nothing. That's why I keep my random playing to a minimal on retail versions.

Can't wait till you switch back over to the 360 to get some games in.

I just can't stand the new controls. And I so wanted to like them, but I shouldn't have to have two sticks mapped out for movement and dribbling, I see no sense in that whatsoever. After a couple of crossovers/spins/hez on the demo I was just left feeling empty. No excitement at all, just a cumbersome, awkward experience. No-one should have to double tap a shot stick to pull off a stepback jumper, there's nothing smooth about that, I was expecting my player to pull off a hadouken fireball with some of the control actions.....

I'm glad you guys are digging the new stick, wish I was there with you.
Great post defending your argument.

I understand what you're saying, my first few games also I was like damn maybe I won't get the hang of it. But I'm pretty good at the dribble moves right now. Also I don't see why people iso every time down the court. NBA palyers dont iso everytime down the court. Isolation is used in moderation. When a play breaksdown and they go in scramble mode. Or when you have a mismatch of course, or when you see could make a quick move for a score instead of running the full play.

I lol'ed at the hadouken line tho

Default:
1. Shooting stick stayed the same like 2K12
2. Press LT and you can use the iso-motion stick

So you just switch it around.

I wish I could change the cam to 2K-cam but I can't so I'll have to wait until the full game is out and I'll practice with the stick. The demo also feels slow, when passing to a player with the stick and when you want a defender to shove in.

But besides that: I DON'T NEED TO DO 100 ISO MOTIONS IN 1 MINUTE RIGHT? I'm feeling the focus is too hard on these moves. I'm not someone that just presses turbo constantly and goes for lame dunks with Lebron over and over again.

I do play the game the right way, as sim as possible, I do use plays, I do try to play as realistic as possible.

Rofl just want simple? Get real.

Like I said: I'm no cheeser, I try to play as realistic as possible, I'm not someone who guns and runs and tries to dunk over 5 people with Lebron and cheese my way in. I just want that the controls allow me to shoot first and press LT to let me use the Iso motions. It feels better.

I don't see CP3 doing 10 of these moves during 1 possession. I see people doing tons of spin moves in one play, that's not the purpose right? That's ridiculous.

I'm definitely going to try and learn to play with the right stick, but if I don't like it that automatically makes me someone who likes it the easy way and don't want to learn.

Talk about being obnoxious.
Good that you're not a cheeser and you play sim ball. But who does 100 iso moves a game? I emulate the NBA to every little detail I can. The only time iso moves are used in the NBA is when plays breakdown, mismatches, mismatches on switches and a quick move in transition, or when you run off a screen and you have a chance to attack.

So you don't use 100 moves a isolation, but it's good to have a 100 moves at your disposal when you do isolate to switch it up, keep it fresh, to entertain your self and just flat out make the defender and your opponent look stupid.

I agree 100% with this post.

You think so? When I try to do a basic crossover when I don't have a realistic amount of space the ball is usually stripped, I'm forced to pickup my dribble or the defender just makes strong contact forcing me to stepback.

I am slowly (very slowly) getting the hang of the demo. I started using the Kinect commands and it has helped a bit. I will be the first to admit I am a complete 2K basketball rookie and have a steep learning curve to get through. I am trying to play as real to life as possible and not trying to just spam slam dunks the whole game. I just wish I was at least decent with the game right now but I just have to keep learning and try to improve as I go.

Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here

loving the demo this game is going to be much better than 2k12. I dont see the crazy nonsense that I see in 2k12. way less crazy in traffic dunks from people who cant even dunk in real life, loving the animations my favorite is when you see players get heated about the no foul calls.

Is it me or online it seems too easy for someone to spam moves with a star and get into the paint. How do I stop someone from just doing a bunch of spin moves to get into the paint??? Why dont they ever lose the ball when they doing all that nonsense???

Also the 3 pointers and the close range needs to be toned down but im sure it is suppose to be like that cause of the demo to show off the offense and will be tweaked soon after release.

Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here

I am really loving the way the players move they feel like they do have some weight to em....I will change the game speed tho because it's just a little to fast for my liking...But other than that I think anyone who likes 2k basketball will spend a lot of hours on this one just because of the gameplay alone.

The heat will be hard to beat this year if the CPU plays anything like the real players Bron is a beast and D Wade still has some mean skills.
